Nashville SC will play the first league home game in its history at Nissan Stadium, the home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. The expansion club said a demand for tickets led to the shift for its first home game in the second-tier USL, on March 24 against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The move comes after a crowd of 9,049 watched Nashville's first preseason friendly against MLS club Atlanta United on Saturday. That game was played at First Tennessee Park, the Triple-A baseball venue where the club will play the rest of its game this year. The club's ownership group was also recently awarded a Major League Soccer franchise, with plans to begin play in 2019 or 2020. The group has approval to build a soccer-specific stadium at the Nashville Fairgrounds. In July, Nissan Stadium had over 47,000 people watch the U.S. face Panama in a Gold Cup game, and that same month over 56,000 watched Premier League clubs Manchester City and Tottenham face off in the International Champions Cup.
