Tigres squeezed past Club Leon and Morelia defeated Toluca 2-1 on Saturday in the Liga MX 2017 Apertura quarterfinals to secure their places in the semis.
Tigres drew 1-1 against Leon in Estadio Universitario to make a 2-2 aggregate scoreline, with Tigres going through due to their higher finishing position in the regular season standings. Morelia tied 3-3 on aggregate with Toluca and went through for the same reason.
France international Andre-Pierre Gignac handed Tigres the lead with a header from a corner in the 21st minute, but Andres Mosquera equalized for the visitors five minutes later.
Leon pushed for the winner in an open and end-to-end game, but last season's finalist Tigres managed to hold on.
Tigres coach Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti announced after the match that he has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club another three years.

Morelia's game against Toluca in Estadio Morelos was even more frantic and unpredictable.
Toluca took the lead in the fifth minute through a neat finish from Fernando Uribe. Peru international Raul Ruidiaz then leveled the match two minutes later, before Angel Sepulveda netted an overhead kick in the 16th to give Morelia the lead, although there was a suspicion of offside.
In Sunday's other quarterfinal second legs, Monterrey hosts Atlas and is 2-1 up on aggregate, while Cruz Azul travels to Club America, with the score 0-0 from the first leg.
