Antonio Valencia has joined Ecuador top-flight side LDU Quito after leaving Manchester United. The 33-year-old has returned to his homeland after a 10-year spell at Old Trafford ended this summer. Valencia served as club captain last season. He played nearly 350 games after arriving from Wigan in 2009 but was restricted to just nine appearances last season after struggling with injury. He made three appearances at the Copa America but could not prevent Ecuador finishing bottom of Group C behind Uruguay, Chile and Japan. He has returned to Ecuador 14 years after leaving El Nacional for Villarreal in 2005. In a decade at United, Valencia won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League.
