Man United's Paul Pogba faces late fitness test ahead of Liverpool clash

Paul Pogba is a doubt for Manchester United's clash with Liverpool, sources have told ESPN FC.

The midfielder is set to have a fitness test on Saturday morning after pulling up in training at Carrington on Friday.

Sources said the Frenchman was unable to finish the session although, after being assessed by the club's medical staff, he was not immediately ruled out of Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford and there remains hope the 24-year-old will be able to play.

Pogba has started United's last two games against Chelsea and Crystal Palace but has also found himself on the bench against Huddersfield in the Premier League and Sevilla in the Champions League in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Marouane Fellaini is back in contention for Jose Mourinho's side after a knee injury. The Belgian midfielder last played on Jan. 31.

Eric Bailly could start in place of Victor Lindelof. Bailly has returned from an ankle problem but has not started a game since Nov. 5.

Anthony Martial is expected to miss out with a thigh injury, while Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera are still sidelined.
