Paul Pogba leaves Man United's Europa League game in first half

Paul Pogba limped off the pitch in the first half of Manchester United's 2-1 Europa League loss at Fenerbahce on Thursday.

The midfielder picked up a knock when Fenerbahce's Souza caught him with a knee to his leg, and though Pogba tried to continue he eventually had to leave the game in the 29th minute.

United's official website said Pogba "seemed to injure his thigh." Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on in his place, with Wayne Rooney dropping back into his deeper midfield role.

United were already trailing 1-0 following Moussa Sow's spectacular overhead kick in the second minute and went on to lose for the second time in two European matches away from home this season.

Jose Mourinho had no immediate update on Pogba's status after the game, instead decrying the lack of a yellow card on the challenge.

Should Pogba turn out to have a serious injury, it will add to a growing list of hurt United players, with defenders Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling already on the sidelines.

United travel to Swansea on Sunday with Jose Mourinho looking to secure a first Premier League win in five games.

Ander Herrera is already suspended for the game following his sending-off against Burnley, and if Pogba is also absent it could lead to a return of Bastian Schweinsteiger to United's depleted midfield.

Speaking about Schweinsteiger before the game, Mourinho had said: "At the moment, we have no problems in midfield like we have in defence but, if we have problems in midfield, it's another option for us."
