Real Salt Lake part ways with Jaime, sign defender Obayan

SALT LAKE CITY -- Sebastian Jaime has mutually parted ways with Real Salt Lake, the team announced on Thursday.

The Argentine forward played 33 matches, including 25 starts, after signing with Real Salt Lake in 2014. He scored six goals and had two assists in two seasons.

Jaime likely would have had a backup role after the signing of Yura Movsisyan. He has now signed with Universidad Catolica in Chile.

The organization also announced that Sunday Stephen Obayan has signed to play for the team.

The Nigerian midfielder has played for eight teams in 11 years as a professional, including 76 matches with Numancia from 2011-13. The 27 year-old Obayan is an athletic defensive player who is expected to contribute immediately.

Real Salt Lake begins training camp Friday.
