A Croatian court has dropped charges of perjury against Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.
In September, Lovren was charged with false testimony in a trial against officials at Dinamo Zagreb, one of the centre-back's former clubs.
But the Zagreb municipal court "rejected the indictment ... against Lovren," on Jan. 25, according to a tribunal statement, as cited by AFP. However, it added that the ruling can be appealed.
Lovren's Croatia teammate and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was charged in March for giving false testimony in the same case, but saw his charges dropped in December.
Lovren said he found out about his charges through the media and categorically denied them.
"I want to tell everyone that I'm innocent," he wrote on Instagram. "I did not commit any criminal offence. I'm proud of my life, of what my family and I have achieved. ... I reject all accusations with indignation. I will win this battle."
