Singapore keeper Hassan Sunny joins TPL club Army United

Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny has joined Thai Premier League (TPL) side Army United for the 2015 season, reported the New Paper.

The 30-year-old custodian had a stellar season last year when he lifted the S.League trophy with Warriors FC winning the S.League 'Player of the Year' award in the process.

The Lions' number one goalkeeper made a move to sign for S.League rivals Tampines Rovers FC for the 2015 season, but he accepted Army United's offer of a contract to join Gary Stevens' side following a trial.

Hassan will turn out alongside Slovakian defender Zdenko Kapralik, Japanese midfielder Kai Hirano, Namibia striker Tangeni Shipahu and Dutch forward Melvin de Leeuw.

Army United will be hoping to have a much improved season after finishing ninth in the TPL in 2014. Hassan will only be the second Singapore player to ply his trade in Thailand after John Wilkinson's 2011 stint for Police United.
