Daniel Agger return interests Brondby

Brondby chairman Jan Bech Andersen has said the club will do everything possible to bring defender Daniel Agger back from Liverpool.

Denmark international Agger, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, left his homeland when he moved to Anfield from Brondby in January 2006.

However, the arrival of fellow left-sided centre-back Dejan Lovren from Southampton has cast serious doubt over his long-term Liverpool future.

The Reds vice-captain, 29, sought to play down reports of an imminent departure by suggesting he was focused on earning a regular place.

He did, though, say he would be interested in returning to Brondby at some stage in his career.

And Andersen has not given up on the possibility that could happen this summer, telling 3point.dk: "We will work really, really hard to secure Daniel but, as he has said himself, the timing has to be right.

"So let us hope we can tie up the loose ends. When that is, time will tell -- but we will go a long way to get him back because it will show just how high we have set the bar. It will show that we have ambitions and will make a lot of fans happy."

Asked whether a deal might happen this summer, Andersen said: "We will do everything in our power, but it is clear that we also need to be responsible and we need to do what is right at the right time.

"But to answer the question: yes, we will do everything that we can, if and when the possibility arises."
