Inter close to Yann M'Vila signing

Inter Milan hope to make Yann M'Vila their second new signing this summer but have ruled out moves for Javier Hernandez and Erik Lamela.

An agreement has already been reached with the Rubin Kazan midfielder, although Inter's director of sport Piero Ausilio says a fee must first be agreed upon with the Russian club. And he would not be the last new arrival at the Nerazzurri this summer either.

"We're working on it with Rubin," he said at a tennis event in Prato. "Let's say the only player we hope to have in time for the start of [our training camp in] Pinzolo is M'Vila. We're talking to [Rubin] and we'll just have to see. It is an opportunity.

"He has expressed great satisfaction at being able to be part of a new project. He looks hungry and determined, but if there any problems we will just have to move on."

Inter have plenty of other targets lined up, although Manchester United's Javier Hernandez is not one of them.

"He doesn't have the characteristics [we are looking for]," added Ausilio. "We've already got [Rodrigo] Palacio and [Mauro] Icardi and I think our coach is looking more for a second forward."

Erik Lamela would fit the bill, but Ausilio says Inter are not going to waste any time trying to pursue the former Roma player.

"Lamela is a dream of ours, but there is no chance of it coming true simply because Tottenham aren't putting him on the market," he said. "It's exactly the same as when they came to us asking for [Mateo] Kovacic.

"There is absolutely no chance we will sell him, and we've already turned down several offers from big clubs. Icardi is also not for sale at any price."

Inter are looking to buy and not sell this summer and Parma's Jonathan Biabiany and Cagliari's Victor Ibarbo are two other names the club are interested in acquiring.

"Ibarbo is physically strong and useful," Ausilio said. "He's got the characteristics which enable him to play in various roles. He's got excellent technical quality and we like him. We tried to get [Biabiany] when we discussed his part-ownership with Parma, but things were left there. But we'll get an update on that."

Inter finished last season in fifth place in Serie A, qualifying for the Europa League at the end of a season which saw the end of Massimo Moratti's 18-year tenure as club president. His replacement, Erick Thohir, has promised to invest in the squad this summer, although Nemanja Vidic is the only confirmed arrival so far, joining on a free transfer from Manchester United.
