U.S.'s Luca de la Torre signs extension with Fulham

U.S. youth international Luca de la Torre signed a contract extension with Fulham on Tuesday, tying him to the club until 2020.

De la Torre, 19, was born in San Diego but came up through Fulham's academy before making his first-team debut in 2016.

The defender made three appearances for the Championship club last season.

"It's a great feeling," he told Fulham's website. "I've been at this club for a few years now and it definitely feels like home for me.

"There are a lot of opportunities for me this year to play well for both Fulham and the USA, and I'm looking forward to grabbing the opportunity with both hands.

"I was a bit unlucky at the beginning of the season, I was injured during pre-season and I've been out since but now I'm back in training so hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here."

De la Torre played for the U.S. Under-20 team at the World cup in May and scored a last-gasp equalizer against Ecuador.
