Former United States manager Bob Bradley expects Le Havre to bounce back from disappointment in the Coupe de France in his first league match in charge of the French Ligue 2 club on Monday.
Bradley, 57, left Norwegian side Stabaek to take over at Le Havre on Nov. 10 before watching his new team crash out of the cup at sixth division Saint-Omer four days later.
However, Le Havre have gone five games without defeat in the French second tier. On Monday evening, they can move to within three points of Ligue 2 leaders Nancy if they beat Brest in what is also Bradley's first home game at the club.
"For sure, everybody was disappointed with the way we played," the ex-Chicago Fire coach said of the 2-0 cup defeat.
"We know that the Cup's important and we hate to drop out at this point.
"But now the most important thing is the response of the team."
Le Havre's promotion credentials will be put to the test when they travel to Nancy on Saturday but Bradley expects that it will take some time for him to fully evaluate his squad.
"It's a little early but I certainly feel like the work in the last week has been very good," he told the club's official website.
"Every day you get to know players a little better.
"I think that our emphasis has been on just improving in some basic areas without losing, I think, some of the positives of the last five games."
Le Havre midfielder Alexandre Bonnet says that the former manager of the Egyptian national team has made a strong impression on the players.
"We've already felt the changes at training with some high intensity sessions," he told L'Equipe. 'With him, it's a winning culture that has arrived."
