By the numbers - Zinchenko unbeaten in 23, Grealish loses 20 straight

What a weekend of football.

In England, Chelsea clung on for a point against a rampant Leicester City, Liverpool battled their way to a tough away win at Southampton, Arsenal beat Burnley and a VAR-aided Tottenham Hotspur held Manchester City.

In Spain, Barcelona lost to an incredible Aritz Aduriz goal at Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid won handsomely at Celta Vigo. In Germany, Bayern Munich drew at home against Hertha Berlin while Borussia Dortmund dismantled Augsburg in front of the Yellow Wall.

Oh, and in France, PSG lost to an inspired Stade Rennais FC. No, really, PSG lost.

EPL

1

Incredibly, Oleksandr Zinchenko has failed to win a Premier League game for the first time in his career following the 2-2 draw against Tottenham. His current record in the league reads - P 23, W 22, D 1.

2

After their last-minute heroics in the summer transfer window, Arsenal have continued to spread cheer amongst their fans with two wins in two at the start of the PL campaign. This is the first time they have won the first two games of a season since 2009-10.

3

It has not been a great start to Frank Lampard's career as boss at his former club. In fact, he's the first Chelsea manager to fail to win any of his first three games in charge of the club since Rafael Benitez in the 2012-13 campaign.

23

There have been, though, promising signs -- Mason Mount being chief among them. With his goal, Mount became the first English player to score for Chelsea under an English manager since Dennis Wise under Glenn Hoddle against Blackburn in May 1996, 23 years ago.

10

Harry Wilson scored on debut to lead Bournemouth to a 2-1 win over Aston Villa. Since the start of last season, Wilson has scored 10 goals from outside the penalty area in all club competitions, the most of any player in the top four tiers of English football in that time.

20

That match also saw the continuation of the worst individual losing streak in PL history. Jack Grealish has now lost 20 consecutive games in the top division.

26

Teemu Pukki is the first player to score a PL hat-trick for Norwich City since Efan Ekoku against Everton in September 1993, 26 years ago.

4,480

Phil Jagielka made his first PL appearance for Sheffield United since May 13, 2007 -- 4,480 days ago.

La Liga

1

Madrid's fine 3-1 win at Celta Vigo was marred by a unique incident. Luka Modrić was shown a straight red card for the first time in his 16-year senior career. This is just the second time he has been sent off in any form -- he got two yellows in the 2014 SuperCopa vs Atletico Madrid.

3

After all the drama of the summer, this was a twist we saw coming from a mile off: Gareth Bale was superb on opening day. The Welshman has now either scored or assisted Real Madrid's first Liga goal of the season in each of the three campaigns Zinedine Zidane has begun as manager.

11

Barcelona have failed to both win or score in an opening La Liga game since Pep Guardiola's first game as manager -- 1-0 win vs Numancia in the 2008-09 season. That game was also the last time Sergio Busquests hadn't started the opening Liga fixture for Barca. (He didn't start this one either.)

In the last six matches Barcelona have played in official competitions without Lionel Messi, they've won once, drawn once and lost four times.

14

Atletico Madrid have gone 14 Liga games in a row without conceding against Getafe. No team has a better streak against another in the history of the competition.

15

Only two people have scored in 15 consecutive Liga seasons: Lionel Messi and, now, the 38-year-old Aritz Aduriz.

Bundesliga

1

This is the first time Bayern have allowed two goals in their opening league match since a 2-2 draw against Hamburg in 2008.

5

Robert Lewandowski is the only player to score for the fifth time in a row on Matchday 1 of Bundesliga; Stefan Kießling and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar did it in four consecutive years.

43

The last time FC Bayern were behind at half-time at home on the first matchday was 43 years ago -- they went on to win 2-1 against Düsseldorf.

Ligue 1

2

PSG have lost in their second match of the season. Last season, the Parisians did not drop points in Ligue 1 until their 15th game of the season (in December) and did not lose until their 23rd league match of the season (in February).
