Borussia Dortmund and Legia Warsaw broke several Champions League records in Dortmund's epic 8-4 win at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday night.
"There is always something happening in Dortmund," BVB sporting director Michael Zorc told reporters after the match. "We sometimes laughed on the bench. It reminded me of funfair football. One more ride, who wants to score, who has not scored yet?"

- It was the highest-scoring game in the competition's history, surpassing Monaco's 8-3 defeat of Deportivo La Coruna in November 2003.
- Dortmund scored their first three goals within only 198 seconds and their five goals in 16 minutes was a Champions League record.
- Dortmund's eight-goal haul also equals the most scored by a team in a Champions League fixture, while a losing side have never scored four before.
- With one match left to play, Legia already hold the record for most goals involving a single team in a group. They have already reached 32, surpassing Manchester United's record of 31 goals from the 1998-99 season (though most of them have been in the 'against' column'.)
- Indeed, Legia Warsaw have already equalled Bate Borisov's 2014-15 tally of 24 goals conceded during the group stages.
- For the first time in Champions League history, eight different players scored in a single match.
- Felix Passlack replaced Lars Ricken as Dortmund's youngest scorer in the Champions League. He scored at 18 years, 177 days.
