Ebbsfleet beat Aldershot on penalties to progress in National League play-offs

Ebbsfleet will face Tranmere in the semi-finals of the National League play-offs after beating Aldershot 5-4 on penalties at the EBB Stadium following a 1-1 draw after extra time.The score in the eliminator tie was 0-0 after 90 minutes, with Ebbsfleet's Danny Kedwell having had a penalty saved by Lewis Ward.The hosts then took the lead through Portsmouth loanee Nicke Kabamba's header shortly after half-time in extra-time, before former Aldershot player Dave Winfield netted a late equaliser to send the contest to a shoot-out.The home side went 3-1 up, with Ward making two saves, but they could not finish the job off, and after Ebbsfleet drew level at 4-4, Ward's spot-kick struck the post before Dean Rance's effort sealed victory for the visitors.Ebbsfleet now take on Tranmere at Prenton Park on Saturday.

Sutton secure third spot to leave Aldershot facing Ebbsfleet eliminator

Sutton sealed third place in the National League with a 2-1 victory over Aldershot at Gander Green Lane. After Aldershot were denied a 17th-minute opener when Jamie Collins cleared a Scott Rendell effort off the line, the home side went ahead four minutes into the second half when Tommy Wright stabbed the ball in for his 13th goal of the season.But Aldershot were level nine minutes later, Rendell tucking home from the penalty spot after Shamir Fenelon was fouled.Rendell glanced a header just wide before Sutton regained the lead 11 minutes from time, Ross Lafayette prodding home after keeper Lewis Ward spilled Tom Bolarinwa's drive.Sutton will now await their opponents in a home semi-final while Aldershot will welcome Ebbsfleet to the Recreation Ground on Wednesday in their eliminator.

Rendell's last-gasp equaliser leaves Barrow sweating on survival

Scott Rendell ensured that Barrow are still sweating on survival after his injury-time equaliser saved promotion-chasing Aldershot in a 1-1 draw at the Recreation Ground.The Cumbrians could even be heading for a last-day nail-biter - but things were looking much brighter when, in the 72nd minute, Shots keeper Lewis Ward punched Dan Jones's free-kick into the path of Luke James to hook in a glorious 25-yard volley.The Shots were disappointing throughout, and despite long spells of possession scarcely tested Steve Arnold.The tide turned for Barrow when substitute Bradley Bauress was given a straight red for a lunge on Will Evans, and the subsequent Aldershot pressure resulted in the dramatic equaliser when Rendell headed in Manny Oyeleke's cross.

Aldershot climbed to third place in the Vanarama National League as Scott Rendell's strike clinched a 1-0 win over Gateshead.The well-travelled frontman pounced at the end of a first half that Aldershot dominated, getting the decisive shot on goal amid a melee after Jim Kellermann swung across a corner.Gary Waddock's Shots had hit the woodwork twice before Rendell made his timely intervention, most dramatically when Matt McClure took aim from long range and only a touch onto the post from goalkeeper James Montgomery denied him a goal.McClure fired narrowly over midway through the second half as Aldershot attempted to stretch their lead but it was Rendell's goal that delivered the three points as the hosts climbed above Sutton in the table.

Late Kabamba winner sends Aldershot up to third

Nicke Kabamba netted an 89th-minute winner as Aldershot climbed into third place in the National League with a 1-0 home victory over Maidenhead.The on-loan Portsmouth striker produced a fine diving header past Carl Pentney at the far post following Callum Reynold's cross.Before that Aldershot had dominated with Pentney making several fine saves to keep Maidenhead, now without a win in six games, on level terms.First he tipped a close-range Scott Rendell header over the bar and then made a flying save to keep out Emmanuel Oyeleke's powerful drive.Pentney also foiled Bobby-Joe Taylor before Rendell's downward header hit a post six minutes from time but Kabamba had the final say.

Aldershot Town 0-2 Eastleigh

Eastleigh banished their recent poor form in the best possible style, winning the Hampshire derby 2-0 at Aldershot.Chris Zebroski headed the visitors the lead on the stroke of half-time from a left-wing cross. The striker showed fine positional sense to latch on to the return ball back into the box following an over-hit cross.Zebroski turned provider after the interval with a fine cross to the back post, where strike partner Paul McCallum was ideally placed to head in.Aldershot could not get back in the game despite a determined effort. Shamir Fenelon slipped his shot wide of the post late on after picking up a good through pass from Matt McClure.

Relegation-threatened Solihull Moors hold high-flying Aldershot to goalless draw

Fourth-placed Aldershot were held to a 0-0 draw on Good Friday at relegation-threatened Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League.The struggling hosts looked the brighter of the sides in the first half, striker Jermaine Hylton finding himself through on goal after 25 minutes only to be thwarted by Lewis Ward.The Shots played more positively in the second half, introducing Fabien Robert and Jim Kellerman in a bid to boost the attack, but the game remained goalless.The result meant the Moors remained in the relegation zone - level on points with 20th-placed Barrow, who have two games in hand - while Aldershot stayed hot on the heels of Wrexham, behind the Welsh side only on goal difference.

Aldershot keep play-off push going

Aldershot consolidated their position in the Vanarama National League play-off places by seeing off promotion rivals Boreham Wood 2-0 at the Recreation Ground.The ambitious Shots did not wait long to take the lead as, in the 11th minute, a fast break into the box allowed Jake Gallagher to latch onto Shamir Fenelon's flick and shoot under Grant Smith.It might have been 1-1 at the half-hour mark when Danny Woodards unleashed a drive from 25 yards out, Lewis Ward flying across his goalmouth to keep the screamer out.Aldershot eventually moved further clear in the 75th minute, Matt McClure diverting a deft flick beyond Smith to rubber-stamp the three points.

Rowe hits hat-trick as Fylde run riot

Danny Rowe passed a quarter-century of goals for the season in Fylde's 7-1 blitz at home to Aldershot.Inside the first 20 minutes the prolific striker netted a hat-trick, propelling his side into a 4-1 lead. Aldershot had briefly equalised when Josh McQuoid placed into the corner, but it was out of context with their horrendous day.Sam Finley, who netted Fylde's other goal in that opening salvo, had an extraordinary day. Manny Oyeleke boosts Aldershot promotion push with winner against Hartlepool

Aldershot maintained their push for automatic promotion back to the Football League with a hard-fought 2-1 win at home to struggling Hartlepool.The Shots grabbed a first-half lead through Scott Rendell but it was cancelled out by a crashing long-range effort by visiting substitute Blair Adams moments before the break.Conor Newton came close to giving Hartlepool the lead when his shot in the box was blocked, with visiting appeals for handball waved away by the referee.And it got worse for Hartlepool when Manny Oyeleke sealed the points for the home side when he squeezed a 60th-minute effort past keeper Scott Loach.
