            Grimsby finish season on a high thanks to JJ Hooper hat-trick

            JJ Hooper's second-half hat-trick handed Grimsby a 3-0 victory at Forest Green on the final day of the League Two season.Hooper broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when he stretched to toe-end the ball over the line. He grabbed his second on 83 minutes with a sumptuous angled strike and six minutes later completed his smash and grab with a howitzer from 25 yards.With both sides safe from any lingering relegation fears, the game was played out in a pedestrian fashion.Forest Green created the better first-half chances but found Grimsby keeper James McKeown in fine form as he denied 25-goal striker Christian Doidge and then clawed away a Scott Laird free-kick. He remained resolute as he somehow miraculously scooped away a Charlie Cooper header.Referee Seb Stockbridge hobbled off to be replaced by fourth official Adam Bromley with 20 minutes to go.Hooper turned up the heat in the second half with his hat-trick to leave Grimsby unbeaten in their last five games, finishing 18th in the final league standings, with Forest Green ending their first season in League Two in 21st.

              Luton seal second spot with late win over Forest Green

              Late goals from Olly Lee and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu ensured Luton finished second in League Two with a 3-1 win against Forest Green.The hosts went close early on as Mpanzu sent an effort wide, while visiting keeper Cameron Belford made superb saves from Dan Potts and Danny Hylton.The deadlock was broken on 20 minutes, though, James Collins seeing his shot saved by Belford, only for Hylton to score his 50th goal for the club.Belford then denied Hylton once more, parrying Elliot Lee's 20-yarder too.He was at it again soon after, stopping Hylton once more with a fine reflex save, before James Shea kept out Scott Laird's attempt.After the break, Rovers levelled when leading scorer Christian Doidge was given too much time in the area to rifle home on 53 minutes.Reuben Reid was inches away from making it 2-1 with an angled drive, while Reece Brown's effort was saved by Shea.With five minutes to go, though, Olly Lee swept in Harry Cornick's cross, with Mpanzu adding the late gloss in injury time.

                Yeovil and Forest Green secure Football League status

                Yeovil and Forest Green secured their Football League status after they played out a goalless draw.Both teams needed at least a point to be sure of retaining their Sky Bet League status and they achieved that in a tight battle at Huish Park.The visitors had the better of what was a nervy first half of very few chances.Christian Doidge flicked on a cross that Haydn Hollis stretched to volley at the far post but Jonny Maddison did excellently to dive across his goal and turn it over. From the resulting corner Doidge then headed against the outside of the post.Yeovil went close themselves shortly after the break as Francois Zoko connected with a low Otis Khan cross but goalkeeper Bradley Collins bravely threw himself at the shot, deflecting it wide from two yards but injuring himself in the process.Collins was on hand again to tip an Alex Fisher volley over shortly after, before being forced off with the injury.
