Bloemfontein Celtic hang on for another draw

Chippa United secured their third successive League draw as they held Bloemfontein Celtic to a stalemate at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.

Chippa dominated for most of the game, coming closest to opening the scoring just before the break when Moeketsi Sekola saw his header from Kurt Lentjies' cross come back off the woodwork.

James Okwuosa should have done better just after the hour-mark when he fired across the face of goal, but it was Celtic who finished the stronger as Lerato Manzini hit the upright with a long-range effort.

The hosts had one last effort in stoppage time through Sizwe Mdlinzo, but Patrick Tignyemb pulled off a great save to secure his side a share of the spoils.

It's a case of "as you were" following the result, with Celtic in 10th place with six points after five games, while Chippa are one back, also on six but having played a game more.
