Shanghai Shenhua-Shandong Luneng postponed after Hongkou Stadium fire

Shanghai Shenhua's Chinese Super League clash with Shandong Luneng, which was scheduled to be played this weekend, has been postponed due to ongoing repair work at Hongkou Stadium.

The venue was damaged in a fire in late March and the CSL has delayed the meeting between the two teams until Sept. 19 to allow repairs to be carried out on the stadium's electrical circuits.

The security bureau in Hongkou announced last month that there were no casualties and that the fire had been extinguished, while state news agency Xinhua reported that the stands and pitch had not been affected.

Shenhua are currently fifth in the CSL, winning their last two matches despite the absence through injury of Carlos Tevez, while Shandong are one place ahead, with Felix Magath's side one of the surprise packages of the season so far.
