Brisbane Roar loan O'Neill from Burnley

Brisbane have secured young Australian midfielder Aiden O'Neill for the 2019-20 A-League season.

The 20-year-old, who played for Central Coast last season, has joined on a season-long loan from Premier League side Burnley.

O'Neill is the eighth player announced by the Roar this week as ex-Liverpool star Robbie Fowler rebuilds the squad following a disastrous 2018-19 season.

An Australian under-23 international, O'Neill made 23 appearances for the Mariners last season, scoring four goals and claiming the club's player of the season award.

Born in Brisbane, O'Neill said it was exciting to be returning to his hometown for Fowler's first stint as a full-time head coach.

"It's a great opportunity to play under Robbie who had such an immense career," O'Neill said.
