Paris Saint-German forward Neymar believes the debate over the best Brazilian player since Pele doesn't need to take place.
Neymar was named the best Brazilian player post-Pele in his country's monthly magazine, Placar, but failed to appear among the top 10 in a recent poll conducted by ESPN Brasil.
"This business of naming the best Brazilian player post-Pele makes no sense to me," Neymar told DAZN.
"I'm not going to name the [best] Brazilian player post-Pele. For me, all of them are important. Each one made history, each one played in a different way and each of was important at some point or another.
"There are names that are always going to be linked with the world of football, like Ronaldo, Romario, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Kaka or Zico. We could keep going, as there is also Rivaldo. All of them were players that were important so it's difficult to select one. We also have Roberto Carlos, who was not even a striker but was a player with a great history."
After 160,000 votes were cast in the ESPN Brasil poll, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Romario made up the top three, followed by Zico, Rivaldo, Socrates and Kaka.
Neymar, who finished 11th, was the only player with more negative than positive votes as he failed to make a top 10 that also included Falcao and Careca.
Neymar has won 18 titles in his career, including league crowns in Brazil, Spain and France, as well as the Copa Libertadores with Santos and a Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup with Barcelona. He is recovering from a metatarsal fracture in his right foot in Brazil and expects to return to action in March.
The Brazil international says he is not thinking about his legacy.
"I'm making my own history," the former Barcelona star said. "I'm still 27 and I have a few more years left in my career. It's obvious that I've done great things but I want to do a lot more.
"But I respect those who have already made history for themselves. I respect ever player that has played for Brazil's national team. They are all mirrors [examples to follow] to look at, they are all idols and they are all important."
