Brazil to stay at Spurs' newly-built players' lodge before World Cup

The Brazilian national team will prepare for the World Cup as the first visitors to Tottenham Hotspur's newly-built players' lodge this summer, the Premier League club has announced.

Brazil will be based at Hotspur Way from 28 May until 8 June before departing for the World Cup in Russia, where they face Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in the group stage.

The five-time world champions will be the first official visitors to Spurs' 45-room bedroom players' lodge, situated at Myddleton Farm, adjacent the club's Enfield training base.

Brazil, who are the only side to choose Sochi as a training base during the World Cup, will also have access to pitches at Hotspur Way, as well as the media and medical facilities at the training ground and lodge.

The lodge, which is due to be completed in spring, is primarily for use by the Spurs first team and academy, although the club expects to entertain more visiting clubs and national teams in the future.

It includes catering, treatment and rest and rehabilitation facilities, which will allow Spurs to create a controlled environment for players during prematch preparations, pre-season training, Academy matches, as well as accommodating potential new signings and injured players.
