TOP STORY: Juve finalising De Ligt move
Juventus are closing in on the signing of Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, following a breakthrough in discussions between the Serie A champions and De Ligt's agent, Mino Raiola -- according to reports at Calciomercato.
Raiola and Netherlands international De Ligt have given the green light to Juve's latest contract offer, meaning the Italians now just need to formalise their financial proposal to Ajax.
The Eredivisie winners have sought to avoid a bidding war between clubs for their prized asset by placing a fixed asking price on the 19-year-old, leaving much of the negotiations down to the player himself.
Interest in the Netherlands international is rife, with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Manchester United all believed to be desperate to secure a deal, but Juve's offer of a €12 million net salary plus bonuses is believed to have secured one of the most highly sought-after signatures in European football.

23.20 BST: We close today's blog with a late completed deal, as Liverpool have announced they have sold talented youngster Rafael Camacho back to his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.
The highly-touted Portugal Under-18 international made two first-team appearances with the Reds but was seeking a move for regular playing time purposes. According to the Liverpool Echo, Camacho, who was entering the final year of his contract, refused to sign a new contract to extend his stay at Anfield.
Early reports indicate that Sporting will pay an initial £5 million for the midfielder with incentives that could see the final transfer rise to as high as £7m.
22.45 BST: Borussia Dortmund have named their price for in-demand German midfielder Julian Weigl.
The Bundesliga runners-up are reportedly happy to let Weigl, 23, leave if someone is willing to pay £27 million, according to Bild. The deep-lying playmaker lost his starting spot last season at the Westfalenstadion and is reportedly a target of Arsenal and PSG
Having already won five caps for Germany, Weigl is no doubt a highly-regarded talent and £27m doesn't seem like an outrageous asking price for a player with major sell-on value.
22.05 BST: Emerson Hyndman was once considered one of the United States men's national program's brightest young talents.
Still only 23, Hyndman still has plenty of time to make good on all that promise but after making only seven appearances in threes seasons at Bournemouth, it may be time for a change of scenery for the Texan. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that that aforementioned change of scenery could be imminent.
Atlanta United are reportedly discussing a contract with the central midfielder but no terms have been finalised as of yet. Hyndman, who captained the U.S. at the 2015 Under-20 World Cup, has made two senior appearances for the U.S. and has spent time at Fulham, Bournemouth, Rangers (loan) and Hibernian (loan).
We'll see if a return home to the U.S. can reignite Hyndman's career.
21.40 BST: Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has not been shy about using his Anfield connections as Rangers boss, having brought Ryan Kent, Jon Flanagan, Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria to Ibrox since taking over as manager on June 1, 2018.
The latest rumours to resurface are that Gerrard has designs on bringing former Liverpool teammate Martin Skrtel aboard. The 34-year-old is a free agent after his contract at Fenerbahce expired and could be keen for a reunion with his old captain with whom he played with from 2008-15.
Gerrard has made two unsuccessful pushes to sign Skrtel in the past year but it could be third time lucky for the Rangers boss. According to the Daily Record, the Slovakian defender is due in Glasgow for talks in the "next few days."
21.17 BST: Man City have a "contract ready" for breakout Copa America star Everton.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, City have "offered €40M + bonuses to Gremio for Everton." The 23-year-old Brazilian winger has scored twice so far at the Copa America and could use the South American championship as a springboard for a move to Europe.
Current Man City stars Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Ederson Moraes will all be surely getting in Everton's ear about joining them at the Etihad!
20.40 BST: Recent reports have indicated that Tottenham are really close to signing Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
Well maybe Spurs aren't quite as close as those reports would lead you to believe. OL president Jean-Michel Aulas went on RMC Sport on Thursday to talk about various topics, notably Ndombele's future. Aulas had the following to say regarding Spurs' initial €45 million bid from Ndombele which was subsequently rejected.
"If I wait another eight days, it will be 80 million ... Tottenham has made a first proposal to 45 million, Aulas reveals.Since then, we discussed. In fact, I can assure you. We are not in a hurry either, Tanguy has shown these qualities in the French team, he is one of our best players, how much is it worth, I do not know but more than 45 million."
Gianluca Di Marzio suggested on Tuesday that a deal of €62 million plus bonuses for the 22-year-old Ndombele was "all but done."
The wait for Spurs' first signing in 18 months goes on...
20.20 BST: Wolves are reportedly still in the running for an Inter Milan defender.
Zinho Vanheusden is the target, the 19-year-old having drawn interest from Wolves after an impressive loan spell at youth club Standard Liege. Vanheusden has already rejected a move to Brighton, while Southampton have reportedly been put off by his £18 million price tag.
According to reports in Belgium, Wolves remain in the running for the Belgian Under-21 international, with Sassuolo, Roma, Bologna, Parma and Standard Liege all also reportedly keen.
19.51 BST: An Arsenal target has reportedly has asked out of his current club.
Young Borussia Dortmund centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou has told the club he wants a transfer, according to German outlet Bild. The move comes just days after Borussia Dortmund brought back World Cup-winning centre-back Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich.
With playing time at Dortmund likely to be scarce, the France Under-20 captain has asked for a move and his agent has reportedly already started looking for a new home for the player. BVB are reportedly asking for €30million (£26.8m) for Zagadou, with the player supposedly interested in making a move to the Premier League.

19.24 BST: With Man United close to finalising a £50 million deal for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Times has speculated what might be next for the Red Devils.
The paper writes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Co. are not done raiding their Premier League rivals, with Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison and Newcastle defensive midfielder Sean Longstaff both targets for United.
Longstaff, 21, was a revelation under Rafa Benitez last season and is valued at £25 million, while Maddison, 22, directly factored in on 14 goals in his debut season in the Premier League and is valued around £60m.
Man United always figured to have a busy summer and Longstaff and Maddison would definitely line up with the club's ambitions of getting younger.
19.02 BST: Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been linked with Inter, AC Milan, Napoli, Arsenal, Real Betis and Sevilla but the 22-year-old is not giving up on having a future at the Santiago Bernabeu just yet.
Marca understands that the Spain Under-21 star, who is reportedly valued at €50 million, is open to a loan move this season but does not want to be sold on a permanent basis.
With so many big-money players ahead of him under Zinedine Zidane, Ceballos' future at Real Madrid looks bleak, no matter how confident the player is of breaking through. One way or the other, we'd expect Ceballos to be playing somewhere other than the Bernabeu next season.
18.22 BST: Celtic have seen their deal for Motherwell forward David Turnbull fall through.
The 19-year-old, who Celtic had recently poached for £3.25 million has failed his medical due to a knee ailment and thus will be remaining with Motherwell.
The Scottish Football Writers Association's Young Player of the Year last season, Turnbull bagged 16 goals last season for Motherwell.
17.56 BST: Everton's striker woes have been well-documented over the past few years with transfer busts like Oumar Niasse, Sandro Ramirez and Cenk Tosun all failing to impress at Goodison Park.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, is claiming that the Toffees are making a sensational swoop for Juventus phenomenon Moise Kean.
Corriere dello Sport writes that that Everton "have offered [Juventus] €30m" for Kean and that Juventus are caught between "educating" or "selling" the 19-year-old forward. Kean scored seven goals in 17 games last season for the Old Lady and already has notched two goals in three caps for Italy.
Could Moise Kean finally be the answer to Everton's striker prayers? We'll see if Juventus are willing to sell him first...
17.19 BST: Aston Villa plotting a swap deal for a french midfielder?
A report out of Croatia suggests that Villa could swap out-of favour Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic for 24-year-old Nantes midfielder Valentin Rongier.
According to the report in tportal.hr, the deal would be Kalinic plus €10 million for Rongier. Newly-promoted Villa have been busy this summer signing Brazilian striker Wesley from Club Brugge, winger Anwar El Ghazi from Lille, winger Jota from Birmingham City and defender Kortney Hause from Wolves.
16.54 BST: It is no secret that Real Madrid want Paul Pogba and that Paul Pogba wants out of Manchester United. That said, there is no guarantee either party will get what they want.
If Real Madrid can't get Pogba they will be forced to seek an alternative solution, with Ajax youngster Donny van de Beek reportedly one option for Los Blancos. If Madrid move for Van de Beek, they now know his price and that he won't come cheap.
Dutch paper De Telegraaf writes that the 22-year-old Dutch attacker will cost between £45 and 53 million and that "the transfer of the Ajax player [to Madrid] will gain momentum" when Pogba joins Juve.
Van de Beek tallied 17 goals and 13 assists for Ajax and was a key player in the Dutch side's run to the Champions League semifinals.
16.20 BST: Various reports in Italy suggest Roma are chasing former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra.
Sky Sport Italia suggest Roma's new director Gianluca Petrachi is preparing to meet Bartra's agent soon.
The Real Betis man would come in as a replacement for Kostas Manolas, should the Greece international join Napoli.
15.55 BST: ESPN FC reported on Wednesday that Tottenham were close to the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
That move looks ever closer to completion with the London Evening Standard claiming France international midfielder Ndombele visited Spurs' training ground ahead of a potential five-year deal.
15.20 BST: Pep Guardiola has said there is "no possibility" that Manchester City can sign Marco Asensio from Real Madrid.
Asensio, who has a €700m release clause, endured a disappointing campaign, scoring six goals and setting up five more in 44 appearances for Madrid.
The Spain international was a reported target of City but his club has no intention of selling the 23-year-old.
Asked about Asensio while at an event for the Johan Cruyff Foundation, Guardiola said: "There's no possibility that City can sign him."
Asked about Rodri, who, sources have told ESPN FC, is close to a £63m move to City, however, Guardiola said: "I have no idea. We shall see. He is a great player."
14.57 BST: Lazio's sporting director Igli Tare has said there is no truth to reports in France that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is heading to Paris Saint-Germain.
"There's nothing to say because there's nothing to talk about -- we are not under any pressure to sell him -- it's just rumours," Tare told Le Parisien.
PSG are reported to have made a bid of €70m for the midfielder, but Tare added: "I don't have any idea what his price is and I can't talk about something which is not concrete or real -- it's just speculation."
14.28 BST: TyC Sports report that Porto and Los Angeles Galaxy are in the race to acquire Boca Juniors forward Cristian Pavon.
According to the outlet, Boca are considering selling the 23-year-old, who scored seven goals in 37 games.
The Argentina international is contracted to Boca until June 2022 and has a $50m release clause, but they are reportedly willing to sell 50 percent of the player's rights for a minimum $14m.
A move to the LA Galaxy would reunite Pavon with his former coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
14.00 BST: Barcelona vice president Jordi Cardoner has said Neymar wants to return to the club this summer but that the Spanish champions have not looked into bringing him back yet.
Sources have told ESPN FC that PSG are open to selling the Brazilian and that Barca are looking into a deal to facilitate a Camp Nou return.
However, Cardoner denied it's something the club have discussed but revealed he is aware Neymar is keen on moving back to Barcelona.
13.19 BST: Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is the subject of a Milan tug-of-war, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The article claims Inter and AC Milan are both interested in the Chile international. Both sides are also interested in Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi.
Vidal was previously in Italy with Juventus, where he won the Serie A title four years in a row.
12.52 BST: Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan is on the verge of becoming Sevilla's third summer signing.
Jordan arrived in Seville on Thursday and is expected to complete his transfer to the Andalusian club in the next few 24 hours.
The 24-year-old, who is tied to Eibar for a further season, was a reported target of several Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Arsenal.
Estadio Deportivo claim that Jordan will join Sevilla in a €15m transfer and will sign a four-year contract. Sevilla have already signed Diego Carlos from Nantes and Munas Dabbur from Red Bull Salzburg.
12.11 BST: Manchester United are likely to reject Inter Milan's opening bid for Romelu Lukaku, sources have told ESPN FC.
According to ESPN FC sources, the Nerazzurri have offered a two-year loan worth €10m with the obligation to then sign the Belgium international for €60m.
However the offer will be rejected by United at this stage of the transfer window.
11.29 BST: Barcelona have completed the signing of Valencia goalkeeper Neto, who arrives at the club as the replacement for Jasper Cillessen, who moved in the other direction on Wednesday.
Neto, 29, joins Barca for an initial fee of €26m, with an additional €9m due in potential add-ons. He has signed a four-year contract at Camp Nou, tying him to the Spanish champions until 2023, and has had a €200m buyout clause inserted into his terms.
Cillessen signed for Valencia for an up front fee of €35m earlier this week. If Barca end up paying all the add-ons for Neto, the deal between the clubs will end up being a de-facto player exchange.
10.51 BST: It is reported in The Mirror that Bayern Munich are in talks with Ousmane Dembele's agent over a deal for the France international.
Dembele was previously in Germany with Borussia Dortmund before signing for Barcelona in 2017.
10.29 BST: Liverpool have completed the £1.3 million signing of PEC Zwolle's coveted teenage defender Sepp van den Berg amid fierce competition for his services.
The centre-back, who passed his medical on Wednesday, spurned interest from Bayern Munich, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven to join the European champions.
The 17-year-old's initial fee is accompanied by £3.1m in add-ons, which would only be activated if he was to amass close to 350 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League and continental competitions.
09.48 BST: Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed his club's interest in Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, but said they are far from completing a deal for the Colombia captain.
Speaking to Mediaset, he said: "None of us have ever denied that Rodriguez is a player who would be good for us -- also because he's already been managed by [Carlo] Ancelotti and there's already a particular level of respect between the two which could produce beneficial effects.
"But then there are the player's agents, the player's family and then there are the gentlemen at Real Madrid -- there are so many aspects that have to come together, but we'll see. We've got so many negotiations and talks underway."
James will next be in action for Colombia in their Copa America quarterfinal against Chile in Sao Paulo on Friday (live at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+).

09.20 BST: Chelsea have agreed a permanent deal to sign on-loan midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid despite their transfer ban, sources have told ESPN FC.
Kovacic made 50 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season, and reports in Italy claim the agreement to keep him at Stamford Bridge is worth €50 million when all bonuses are included.
Chelsea are not able to register new senior players due to the two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA in February and upheld in May, but the club already hold Kovacic's registration from his loan spell.
The signing of Kovacic broadens Chelsea's midfield options in the absence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who could be sidelined for up to a year after rupturing his Achilles during a postseason friendly against New England Revolution.
08.49 BST: Gianluigi Donnarumma could be on his way to replacing Gianluigi Buffon at Paris Saint-Germain with Alphonse Areola moving to AC Milan, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Buffon turned down PSG's offer of a contract extension and is expected to return to Juventus this summer, with the man who took his place as number one of the Italy national team being lined up take his place in Paris.
Donnarumma is valued at €50m by the Rossoneri, who need to improve their accounts before the end of June to reduce the risk of Financial Fair Play sanctions.
08.26 BST: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola considers Real Madrid's Isco as the ideal replacement for David Silva, according to Marca.
Silva will leave City next summer and City are already looking at possible candidates to replace the Spaniard.
Isco had a difficult campaign at Madrid after being an undisputed starter under Julen Lopetegui early in the season. He hardly featuring during Santiago Solari's spell as coach. After Zinedine Zidane returned to guide Madrid in March, Isco started in six of 11 games.
Isco reportedly wants to remain at Madrid but Marca reported earlier this month that the club is open to listen to offers for the Spaini international.
Guardiola was in Spain yesterday for an event held by the Johan Cruyff Foundation near Barcelona spoke about David Silva's announcement that the 2019-20 campaign will be his last season with City. The 33-year-old will enter his 10th season at the club.
"We have to enjoy the year we have left [with him]," Guardiola said. "He has been a great of Spanish and European football. The decade that he has been at Manchester, which is not an easy league to be in, he's done incredibly well. I hope that together we have a good year."
08.00 BST: Benfica are evaluating a €126m offer for Portugal forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, the Portuguese club said in a statement.
If terms are agreed, the 19-year-old would become the most expensive player in Atletico's history, smashing the La Liga side's transfer fee record of €72m to sign France winger Thomas Lemar from Monaco last season.
Felix would become the fifth most expensive signing in history after Neymar, who holds the record after his €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, Kylian Mbappe (€180m), Philippe Coutinho (€160m) and Ousmane Dembele(€105m).
He scored 19 times for Benfica last season, which included 15 league goals and a memorable Europa League hat trick against Eintracht Frankfurt which made him the youngest player to accomplish the feat in the competition.
His performances towards the end of the season earned him a call-up to the Portugal national team where he made his international debut and partnered Cristiano Ronaldo up front in their UEFA Nations League semifinal win over Switzerland.
PAPER TALK (by James Capps): United pull plug on move for Maguire
The Daily Star claims Manchester United are set to withdraw their interest in Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils were believed to be keen on securing a deal for the England international as part of a major defensive shake-up that also includes a soon-to-be-completed move for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Leicester's asking price of up to £100m appears to have scuppered negotiations.
Reports claim United have valued the former Hull City defender at around £60m, but Old Trafford bosses have now been left stunned at the Foxes' demands, which would make Maguire the most expensive defender in history.
Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in the 26-year-old, but Maguire now fears that his latest price tag could block a dream move to a Champions League club.
Dzeko Inter switch suffers Roma hitch
Inter Milan remain keen to sign striker Edin Dzeko from Serie A rivals Roma, but Calciomercato claims a cash-plus-player deal involving Inter's Edoardo Vergani could now be in the balance.
The Italian publication claims 18-year-old Vergani is being used as a makeweight in a proposed package to sign Dzeko, but the forward is believed to be uninterested in a move to the Stadio Olimpico, placing that specific deal in serious doubt.
Inter, however, are said to be optimistic about completing a move for the Bosnia international, and are expected to hold further talks with their Roman counterparts to thrash out an alternative deal.
Despite an excellent 87 goals in just 179 Serie A appearances for Roma, 33-year-old Dzeko is expected to cost a modest £10m, with the lure of Champions League football at the San Siro providing an added incentive to the move.
