TOP STORY: Hot-shot Fernandes can take his pick
Manchester City and Manchester United are in a race for the services of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to both Sport Witness and the Manchester Evening News.
Fernandes has been in fine form this season, scoring 10 goals in 31 Primeira Liga matches. The 24-year-old struck a 14-minute hat trick against Belenenses on Sunday, and has been linked with both City and United for some time.
The MEN reports that City hope they can use striker Marlos Moreno as a makeweight in a deal, while United's lack of Champions League football will diminish their chances of landing him.
Moreno joined City three years ago but has since disappointed in loan spells at Deportivo La Coruna, Girona and Flamengo.
City may also agree to send more players to Sporting on loan in an effort to further sweeten the deal.

23.17 BST: Speaking of Spurs and Christian Eriksen, the club have reportedly identified a replacement if the Dane does elect to leave this summer.
The Mirror writes Tottenham want Ajax's Donny van de Beek if Eriksen does leave the club for Real Madrid. The 22-year-old midfielder scored the goal in the first leg vs. Spurs and is another Ajax youngster drawing major attention around Europe.
The Dutch youngster has accumulated 16 goals and 12 assists this campaign over all competitions and reports say the London club have been quoted £45 million as a price for Van de Beek, who is also being pursued by Juventus, Bayern Munich and others.
22.40 BST: If you are reading the tea leaves it doesn't look as if Milan will be signing loan star Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent basis from Chelsea.
The midfielder who has been quite valuable this season for the Rossoneri reportedly refused to come on during Monday's 2-1 win over Bologna adding to what has been a fractured relationship over the past few weeks.

21.50 BST: With Real Madrid hoping to bring in Tottenham's Christian Eriksen, there is increasing speculation they could let Ballon d'Or holder and World Cup runner-up Luka Modric leave this summer.
Spanish outlet AS reports that Zinedine Zidane is having doubts about Modric's future at the Bernabeu, with the 33-year-old enduring maybe the worst worst club season of his career. The report goes on to say that Madrid's board still believes in the Croatian and want him to stay; however, they would not block him from leaving.
Modric potentially leaving the same season he won the Ballon d'Or who could have seen that coming...
21.02 BST: Bayer Leverkusen and Germany winger Julian Brandt has spoken out regarding recent links with Liverpool.
Speaking on the Bundesliga's official website, the 23-year-old played down the links and confirmed he has happy with life at Leverkusen.
"I'm enjoying myself.
"I've got a contract with Bayer until 2021, so right now all is well. As things stand, I'm staying put. I just want to end the season as best we can."
Despite Brandt's reassuring comments, the Germany winger reportedly has a £22 million release clause in his current contract, which makes him a very attractive proposition and a bargain for potential suitors. Klopp has reportedly long had interest in bringing Brandt to Anfield, failing to sign him ahead of the 2017 season before "settling" on Mohamed Salah.
20.26 BST: To the other side of Manchester where Sky Sports News are reporting that Man City are closing in on a deal for Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes.
The report claims the fee will be £50 and £60 million for Fernandes with City set to pip rivals United for the 24-year-old's services.
Fernandes would be viewed as the successor to Fernandinho, 34, and also adds an offensive element evident by his 22 goals scored this season.
19.49 BST: Manchester United will not be playing in the Champions League next season but can they still lure Juventus' Paulo Dybala to Old Trafford?
Italian outlet Calciomercato suggests that Dybala is in the final days of his time in Turin and that Man United and Bayern Munich are the two favourites for his services. Now 25, Dybala's career has stagnated this year in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo with many outlets speculating Dybala is not happy with his current situation with the Old Lady.
Man United are rumoured to be selling Paul Pogba to Madrid, so they will have money, the question is will Dybala be open to joining a side without the allure of Champions League football? Ultimately time will tell but the race for La Joya is well underway...
19.07 BST: Chelsea ace to quit and join PSG?
Relax Chelsea supporters it is not Eden Hazard but rather highly rated goalkeeper Marcin Bulka. Goal.com understands the 19-year-old Pole has signed a pre-contract with the French champions and will leave Stamford Bridge this summer after three years in London.
Could other Chelsea youngsters follow suit? With a potential transfer ban coming, the Blues' brass will be hoping this is just an isolated event.
18.31 BST: In recent years Mexico stars like Gio and Jonathan dos Santos, Carlos Vela and Marco Fabian have landed in Major League Soccer. According to ESPN's Manu Martin another El Tri star could soon be set to join the league.
Mexico No. 1 goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa is the player Martin is linking with MLS, with the pundit reporting both the Chicago Fire and the future expansion side Nashville SC have interest in the 33-year-old.
Ochoa is currently in Belgium with Standard Liege and has previously enjoyed stops in Mexico, France and Spain.
17.48 BST -- DONE DEAL: After weeks of twists and turns, the Portland Timbers' striker search has finally come to a conclusion.
Sources have confirmed to ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle that Portland has completed the signing of striker Brian Fernandez from Mexican side Necaxa.

The 24-year-old Argentine finished second in the 2018-19 Clausura with 12 goals and reportedly could arrive in Portland as soon as Monday. The announcement brings an end to Portland's drawn-out search for a new striker, the club having previously been linked with Tigres duo Eduardo Vargas and Julian Quinones and Roma's Ezequiel Ponce, who is on loan with AEK Athens.
Portland also traded midfielder David Guzman to the Columbus Crew on Monday in exchange for a 2019 international roster slot.
17.11 BST: Staying with Newcastle for another one, reported striker target Jan Carlos Hurtado has responded to rumours linking him to St. James' Park.
Newcastle have had success with South Americans in recent transfer windows, see Miguel Almiron (Paraguay) and Salomon Rondon (Venezuela), and have been linked with the 19-year-old Venezuelan forward in recent days.
Hurtado, who plays for Argentine side Gimnasio, had the following to say to Argentine radio station Jogo Benito when asked about links to Newcastle and Marseille: "I have several proposals from Europe but still nothing concrete. There are many clubs interested but I hope the best offer is to be able to stay and have continuity."
It sounds as if Hurtado would prefer to stay in South America for the moment but we will keep an eye on Newcastle who figure to be busy this summer.
16.28 BST: Newcastle could make a summer move for midfielder Tom Bayliss, who plays for League One side Coventry, after monitoring the 20-year-old this season, the Chronicle reports. Bayliss has also been linked with Brighton.
15.10 BST: Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl, who is at the end of his contract and will leave the club following their relegation to the Championship, told reporters after Sunday's draw with Manchester United: "I have enjoyed it a lot. Obviously it has been difficult this season, but I am really, really pleased about the point today."
14.17 BST: Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has told talkSPORT he is ready for the next challenge of his career as his time at Stamford Bridge comes to a close. "I'm fit as a fiddle and ready to go. I've used the time I've not been playing wisely," Cahill said. "This chapter will close and another will open for me without a doubt, so I have a few more years left to play."
13.11 BST: On-loan Chelsea defender Michael Hector was Sheffield Wednesday's Player of the Season, and has said he wants to return to Hillsborough next season. The Sheffield Star reported him as saying: "I have made it clear that I would be happy to stay, but things need to be sorted out now the season has finished. It's just whether the clubs can sort something out and hopefully I can continue here next season."
12.19 BST -- DONE DEAL: South Korea international Ji Dong-Won has left Augsburg to move to Mainz on a free transfer.

11.59 BST: Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has said he wants to make the club's loan move for Player of the Year Salomon Rondon permanent. Rondon has excelled in a season-long move from West Brom, and the Chronicle reported Benitez as saying: "We know that he has been a really, really important player for us. There are a lot of positives, and we will see what happens."
11.17 BST: And staying in France, TF1 reports that PSG's €30m-rated right-back Thomas Meunier remains a summer target for Everton.
10.38 BST: Lille president Gerard Lopez has told Le Parisien that it will be tough for the club to keep winger Nicolas Pepe, a reported target for both PSG and Arsenal. "It is no secret -- we have had many offers for Nicolas, ones where we will never be able to match the salary he can earn somewhere else," he said. "Clearly, he will move on to a big club."
10.05 BST: Liverpool are interested in 17-year-old Fulham defender Cody Drameh and could make a move in the summer, according to reports.
Drameh, an England under-18 international has starred for Fulham's under-23s this season and is also interesting Frankfurt.
09.30 BST: Miralem Pjanic has cast doubt over his future at Juventus by saying he would consider a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to Canal+, midfielder Pjanic said he was attracted by what PSG were building and would listen to an offer if one was made.
"Paris are one of the top eight clubs in Europe at the moment, and certainly in the Champions League they want to go further than they have done recently," the 29-year-old said.
"They're a very, very big club and a club where all players are willing to go because they have a sporting project and very big players are going. You have a real chance of winning the Champions League there."
08.45 BST: Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz has said he is eager to stay at the club despite having limited opportunities this season.
The 25-year-old, who returned to Madrid from Lyon last summer, earned his third league start of the campaign on Sunday and scored twice in the 3-2 win over Villarreal.
The Spanish-born player, who has now scored four goals in 19 appearances in all competitions, told the club's official website: "I don't have a crystal ball but I want to continue here. I'm happy and looking ahead with optimism. I hope I can continue to have opportunities and I'm going to work to have them."
Mariano is tied to Madrid until June 2023.
08.00 BST: Benfica's coveted Joao Felix has been left out of Portugal's Under-20 World Cup squad, according to Record, sparking rumours that he may feature for the senior side at the UEFA Nations League finals this summer.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder -- dubbed "the new Cristiano Ronaldo" by Portuguese media -- has enjoyed a sensational season at the Estadio da Luz, scoring 18 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions, including a hat trick in the Europa League quarterfinal against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Felix, who is tied to Benfica until June 2023 and has a release clause set at €120m, is a target for top European clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
PAPER TALK (by Nick Judd): Celtic in for Jose
Fresh from winning an eighth consecutive Scottish title at the weekend, Celtic are believed to have made an approach -- though not a concrete offer -- for Jose Mourinho, according to the Mail.
The 56-year-old is likely to receive a number of approaches following his exit from Manchester United earlier in the season, and Celtic have made an early move.
Mourinho may feel he has something to prove -- and offer -- given the ignominious end to his tenure at Old Trafford, and he would be guaranteed Champions League football at Celtic.
Celtic, Roma and Lyon are also said to be interested in Mourinho.
Big clubs circling Palace for Zaha, round two.
Crystal Palace are preparing to face a flourish of bids for star player Wilfried Zaha.
The 26-year-old scored against Cardiff on the penultimate weekend of the season to take his league tally to 10, and the Eagles are expecting offers from home and abroad.
The Mirror quotes Zaha's teammate Andros Townsend s pleading with the club to do what they can to keep Zaha, who has said he wants to play Champions League football next season.
The Ivory Coast international is desperate to prove he can cut it a top club, and could make his move in the summer.
Pogba deal edges closer
Manchester United's failure to secure a top-four place following the dismal draw at Huddersfield means Paul Pogba's move to Real Madrid could happen sooner rather than later, AS reports.
Pogba left the field with his shirt over his head following the stalemate, but United's failure to qualify for the Champions League will cost him a pay cut of 25 percent. He was one of several players to have the salary cut written into their contract.
Pogba and Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane have made little secret of their mutual admiration, and a €150 million Madrid move is already said to be under way.

- AC Milan are confident of landing long-term target Allan Saint-Maximin after failing to sign him in January.
Milan could not reach an agreement with Nice then, but both the Rossoneri and the player are keen on the move, Calciomercato reports .
- Real Madrid's Marco Asensio is on the move, according to Calciomercato.
However, his destination is unknown, with both Juventus and Inter Milan after the playmaker. Inter have reportedly already made an offer in excess of €100m.
