Man City players to pay for 26 supporter buses to FA Cup final

Manchester City players will pay for fans' coach travel to Wembley for next month's FA Cup final as a thank you for their support.

Pep Guardiola's squad will pay for 26 supporter buses to travel down to London on May 18 for the final against Watford. Despite Wednesday's night disappointment in the Champions League, City can still land a domestic Treble and if they can pip Liverpool to the title, the FA Cup would be the final leg.

"The support from our fans throughout the season has been nothing short of incredible," Kompany told reporters. "Travelling to so many games in league and cup competitions, both home and away, is not easy to do and is something that every player in our squad values and appreciates."

Guardiola called for a big atmosphere in their Champions League game against Tottenham and the fans provided it despite going out on away goal's rule after the 4-3 victory.

"Although last night's result was not the one that we had hoped for, it was very special to hear our fans in full voice for ninety minutes backing the team," Kompany added. "We still have so much to fight for this season, and this is our way of saying thank you to them for being with us every step of the way."

City say they will look to provide additional coaches should there be a demand. They have received an allocation of 29,242 tickets for the match.
