Barely a month goes by without Lionel Messi sending some goal-scoring record tumbling, but never has the Barcelona star matched the incredible feat achieved by Wang Shanshan this week.
The China hot-shot helped herself to no less than nine goals in her side's 16-0 demolition of Tajikistan at the 2018 Asian Games.
Wang has since been dubbed the "Nine-Goal Diva" by the Chinese media, despite not even being included in the starting line-up for the aforementioned game.
Indeed, the 28-year-old striker emerged from the bench to score nine goals in the space of just 29 second-half minutes.

Wang took her group- stage tally to 11 goals in three appearances after also finding the net in China's opening 7-0 victory over Hong Kong and again in a 2-0 win over North Korea.
After topping their group without conceding a single goal, China are now set to square off against Thailand in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
