Manchester City's Ederson breaks long kick world record

Ederson has a Premier League and Carabao Cup winner's medal and now the Manchester City goalkeeper has added a World Record to his collection from his first season at the club.

The Brazilian is known for his giant kicks and now it is confirmed he has the longest drop kick in the world.

Ederson, 24, joined City in the summer from Benfica, partly because of the quality of his footballing skills, starting attacks from his own box.

City invited the Guinness Book of World Records to their Etihad training campus as he attempted to break the current record of 75 metres.

After two attempts fell just short, Ederson launched his third attempt an incredible 75.35 metres to set a new world record.

Ederson, who has said he would like to score like his hero ex-Sao Paolo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, showed off his certificate on his Facebook account.

In a season where City have broken the records for most points, wins, goals and successive victories, it is another feat to add to the collection.
