Hannover taunt Bayern Munich after Champions League loss to Real Madrid

Bayern Munich were mocked on Twitter by Bundesliga rivals Hannover after their midweek defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League, following the Bavarians' president Uli Hoeness suggesting his team had a "break" in their 3-0 win against Andre Breitenreiter's team last weekend.

Real went into the first leg in Munich fully rested after almost a week away from the action. The Champions League holders didn't play last weekend while Bayern had to travel to northern Germany for their match with Hannover on Saturday.

But Hoeness wasn't particularly worried about the extra few days rest for Cristiano Ronaldo and company, saying after the routine win against Hannover: "We are also going into the game on the back of a break. Today was a break."

However, following Bayern's 2-1 defeat in the first leg against Real, Hannover hit back, tweeting: "Oh dear Bayern - the break wasn't so good for you, better luck in the second leg."

That's some quality shade Hannover, well played.
