Las Vegas Lights incorporate the city's glitz and glitter into new kit

Las Vegas Lights FC are steadily preparing for their maiden season in the U.S.'s second-tier United Soccer League.

The nascent team revealed their club crest back in October and have now followed up by unveiling their first-ever kit, inspired by the glitz and glitter of their home city.

Safe to say that the Lights haven't exactly opted for the subtle approach, with the new shirt featuring gaudy splashes of cyan, magenta and neon yellow trim all over it.

The accompanying goalkeeper kit is a little special too, in that it's so painfully pink it actually glows in the dark.

Interestingly, the player jersey also features a smiley face printed inside so that players can pull it over their face when celebrating goals.

The Lights hit the headlines last month by offering a trial to former U.S. prodigy Freddy Adu. And if the kit launch is anything to go by, it would appear that Adu has successfully made the squad -- at least for preseason -- after the 28-year-old appeared on stage with the rest of his teammates.

The Lights are scheduled to play their inaugural USL fixture away against Fresno FC on March 18.

One thing's for sure: They're certainly going to look the part when game day rolls around.
