Benevento keeper Alberto Brignoli stuns AC Milan to claim first Serie A point

Sometimes football really does take your breath away.

Serie A whipping boys Benevento had lost 14 matches in a row (well, 15 in all competitions, but who's counting?) before Sunday's clash with AC Milan -- but finally they claimed their first point of the season ... thanks to their goalkeeper!

It all looked to be going to plan in Gennaro Gattuso's first game in charge, with Nikola Kalinic's strike on 57 minutes seemingly setting Milan on their way to a 2-1 victory.

Alberto Brignoli, though, had other ideas. The 26-year-old goalkeeper, up in the penalty area in the fifth minute of added time, nodded home a fine equaliser past a shocked Gianluigi Donnarumma and was then mobbed by his ecstatic teammates.

Milan spent hundreds of millions in the summer in a bid to get back among Serie A's elite, but Sunday's 2-2 draw was another low blow in a season of hard knocks for the Rossoneri.

Benevento won't care, though. And they have an unlikely saviour to thank for it.
