Guillermo 'Memo' Ochoa takes No. 8 jersey at Standard Liege

After enduring relegation to the Spanish second tier with Granada last season, Guillermo "Memo" Ochoa has upped sticks and moved on once again.

Indeed, with one eye on making Mexico's 2018 World Cup squad, the ever-popular keeper has sought to keep his European dream alive by signing for Belgian side Standard Liege.

In a slightly unorthodox move, the veteran keeper has taken the No.8 jersey at his new club.

That photo must be tough viewing for fans who regard goalkeepers wearing anything other than their traditionally designated No.1 or No.13 shirts as some kind of apocalyptic omen.

Whether it's a deliberate play on his surname (Ochoa/ocho/eight) is anybody's guess. We'd like to think so!
