Camargo scores Beckham-like stunner from behind halfway line in Chile

Everybody in the stadium stood in awe when Alejandro Maximiliano Camargo struck a stunning first-time effort from way beyond the halfway line in Universidad de Concepcion's 3-1 win over O'Higgins in the Chile Primera on Sunday.

Goals from Francisco Alarcon and Michael Lepe gave UDC a 2-0 lead before Manuel Bravo of O'Higgins was sent off on 62 minutes. Gaston Lezcano still managed to pull one back in the 70th minute but Camargo stepped up to stun the crowd with the last kick of the game.

A weak clearance from O'Higgins goalkeeper Miguel Pinto found its way to the center circle to give Camargo the perfect chance to put his laces through the ball and send it straight into an empty goal. No bounce, no deflection, just pure class.

Camargo might as well put his name on the next FIFA Puskas Award already.
