Emmanuel Boateng ends Barca's unbeaten La Liga season to top Power Rankings

ESPN FC's global editorial desks nominate their top weekend performers. This week's No. 1 ended Barcelona's quest for an unbeaten season in La Liga, with a hat trick in the Blaugrana's surprise defeat.

1. Emmanuel Boateng | Levante

Why he's here: Barcelona hadn't lost to Levante in La Liga since 1964; their trip to Valencia should've been a formality a week before the league's final matchday, with hopes of an unbeaten campaign high. Boateng's hat trick changed all that, dooming the Blaugrana to a surprise 5-4 defeat that ended their dream.

2. Harry Kane | Tottenham

Why he's here: With the World Cup around the corner, Kane rediscovered his goal-scoring form, netting twice to take his Premier League tally to 30 in Spurs' 5-4 comeback win over Leicester.

3. Philippe Coutinho | Barcelona

Why he's here: The heir apparent to Andres Iniesta, Coutinho scored three times in Barca's valiant comeback at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, but it wasn't enough to preserve an unbeaten league season.

4. Gareth Bale | Real Madrid

Why he's here: The Welshman received a standing ovation from the Bernabeu faithful for his two-goal performance in Madrid's 6-0 hammering of Celta Vigo.

5. Ayoze Perez | Newcastle

Why he's here: Chelsea's Champions League hopes were put to bed on Tyneside, where a brace from Perez sealed Newcastle's 3-0 win over the dethroned Premier League champions.

6. Daniel Ginczek | Stuttgart

Why he's here: Ginczek scored a brace in Stuttgart's 4-1 smashing of Bayern Munich, handing the Bavarians their first home defeat in the Bundesliga since March of 2016.

7. Erik Lamela | Tottenham

Why he's here: In addition to Kane's brace, Spurs also got a pair of goals from Lamela in their thrilling comeback against Leicester.

8. Manuel Lanzini | West Ham

Why he's here: A double from Lanzini secured the Hammers a 3-1 win over Everton, and also saw the East London club climb from 15th to 13th in the table of the final day of the season.

9. Mohamed Salah | Liverpool

Why he's here: Salah celebrated his Golden Boot award by scoring his 32nd Premier League goal of the season, and laying on an assist, in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Brighton.

10. Fernando Uribe | Toluca

Why he's here: Toluca trailed Tijuana 2-1 after the first leg of their Clausura semifinal, then Uribe scored a hat trick and added an assist in the 4-1 second-leg win that sees Los Diablos Rojos move on to the final via a 5-3 aggregate win.
