LIVE Transfer Talk: Manchester City's Jesus in tug of war between Juve, Bayern

The summer transfer window is closed for the top leagues in Europe! After a summer full of international football, countless clubs waited until the last minute to pull off their transfers. See all the major deals here and check out how we graded the biggest signings. But just because the window is shut until January, that doesn't mean the rumours won't keep coming.

TOP STORY: Bayern, Juve to battle for Man City's Jesus

Juventus are eyeing a move for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, but could face a battle with Bayern Munich... depending on the future of Robert Lewandowski.

That's according to Calciomercato, which reports that the Serie A side are very keen to bolster their attacking output, which includes Alvaro Morata, Paulo Dybala, Moise Kean and Kaio Jorge. The report also says Pep Guardiola could be willing to let the forward go to raise funds for another striker.

Though Juventus may firmly have the Brazil international in their sights, Bayern Munich are also said to be monitoring his situation. The Bundesliga champions are unsure about the long-term future of Poland international Lewandowski, who only has two years left on his deal, and they are starting to look at possible options to replace the 33-year-old if he decides to look for a new challenge.

Jesus, 24, has started three of Man City's four Premier League fixtures so far this season and has scored one goal, with three assists. City were linked with a move for Harry Kane in the summer in a search for another natural No. 9, which put the future of Jesus in doubt.

21.57 BST: Ajax have agreed a deal to extend the contract of defender Lisandro Martinez, according to De Telegraaf. The promising 23-year-old has become a regular at the back for the Eredivisie side.

21.24 BST: Declan Rice is said to be "happy" at West Ham United, despite reports linking the England international with a move away from the Hammers. That's according to Football London, which reports that David Moyes' side never received an official offer for Rice and are not actively looking to move him on. The22-year-old's deal runs until 2024 with the club holding the option to extend it for a further year. Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all reportedly interested in a potential move for the midfielder in the future.

20.51 BST: Robert Lewandowski is hoping to play for at least "four more years" at the top level in football, the striker revealed in an interview with Sport Bild. The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich in the past few months, some suggesting he may move to the Premier League after a season in which he broke the Bundesliga's single-season goal-scoring record. Bayern have attempted to offer him a new deal, with only two years remaining on his existing contract.

20.18 BST: Liverpool are eyeing a January move for FC Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi, according to the Daily Express. It is reported that Barcelona and Bayern Munich have shown interest in the 19-year-old, however, with Jurgen Klopp hit harder than most by the African Cup of Nations in the new year -- most notably the absences of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane -- the Reds are said to be more keen on a move in the upcoming window.

19.45 BST: Juventus are set to join the battle for Youri Tielemans after reported interest in the midfielder from Barcelona and Real Madrid. Calciomercato reports that Massimiliano Allegri is hoping to strengthen his midfield options in the transfer market, with the Belgium international listed as one of the possibilities on his shortlist. The 24-year-old is out of contract in 2023 and while Leicester City are hoping to renew his deal, Tielemans didn't rule out a move away from the King Power Stadium in a recent interview with Sky Sports.

19.12 BST: Former AC Milan and Japan international Keisuke Honda has joined Lithuanian side FK Suduva. The 35-year-old was left without a club after leaving Neftchi Baku in Azerbaijan in July but has now joined his 10th club in men's football.

18.39 BST: Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici is eyeing up another striker next summer after failing to do so in the transfer window that just passed. That is according to Fabrizio Romano on his latest "Here We Go" podcast, who said that Spurs were looking at potential backups for Harry Kane.

One such option was in the form of Internazionale front man Lautaro Martinez, however a deal never went through for the 24-year-old. It is said that Paratici wasn't convinced by some of the other options and will instead gear up for another striker search next summer.

18.06 BST: Antonio Rudiger is stalling on signing a new Chelsea contract with other clubs ready to move for the 28-year-old. The Telegraph reports that the Germany international has less than a year remaining on his deal, and while the Blues have offered him a new £140,000-a-week contract, he is yet to accept the proposal.

This has alerted clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus to his situation. Foreign clubs will be allowed to discuss a pre-contractual agreement with the defender in January for when his deal concludes.

17:33 BST: Manchester City have been linked with a move for Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal if Bernardo Silva leaves the club. That's according to Eurosport, which reports that the Spain international is seen as a key target to insiders around City. Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain are said to be admirers of the 24-year-old, who has made a blistering start in LaLiga with four goals in four appearances so far this season.

b>17:00 BST: Barcelona made a deadline day approach for Leeds United forward Rodrigo, according to the Athletic.

The Catalan giants made a loan offer to Marcelo Bielsa's side with just hours remaining before the window shut. The late timing meant that the Whites would be unable to find a replacement for the £27m signing from Valencia. The Spain international is yet to find his feet with the Yorkshire club, starting just 14 games last season, but Bielsa was keen to keep hold of him for the upcoming campaign even if Barcelona put in an earlier offer.

16.20 BST: While the 2021 summer transfer window was full of excitement and intrigue as the top clubs spent big, it did leave some star players waiting for their move.

Sources told ESPN that Real Madrid made an offer worth €200 million to Paris Saint-Germain to sign Kylian Mbappe, despite his contract expiring in 2022, but received no reply and therefore put their efforts to land the France forward on hold for now. But with Man United, Man City and Liverpool also following the 22-year-old, can anyone persuade him to join them over Madrid?

Tottenham's Harry Kane made it clear he wanted to leave the club, but his €175m move to Man City never materialised as Spurs refused to negotiate a lower fee. The England striker made a point in his statement to say he would be "staying at Tottenham this summer," which suggests he may be open to an exit in the future.

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is the one every club wants, and the 21-year-old will be available for around €75m due to a release clause that comes into effect in 2022, while there are some big names ready to leave their clubs on free transfers when their contracts expire too -- including Manchester United's Paul Pogba, Juventus' Paulo Dybala and Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.

Where do our writers think these stars will be playing on Sept. 1, 2022?

15.15 BST: Could Jack Wilshere really make an emotional return to Arsenal? The former England international was released by Championship side Bournemouth in the summer and is without a club, but Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has invited the 29-year-old to train with them.

"It can only help me," Wilshere told Sky Sports. "Being around good players, training with world-class players and as well just being in a team environment is something I'm interested in.

"I'm sure that I'll have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days."

14.20 BST: Bernardo Silva was expected to be one of the casualties of Manchester City's summer transfer business, especially after the £100m signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. However, the 27-year-old stayed at the Etihad, but that hasn't stopped the transfer rumours from circling.

The Portugal international was linked with Tottenham, but Eurosport reports that if Silva does leave, he wants to quit the Premier League and play on the continent.

13.33 BST: Julien Laurens and Stewart Robson discuss the possibility of Paul Pogba extending his contract at Manchester United.

12.50 BST: Isco remains at Real Madrid, despite extensive transfer links over the past few windows. Now Calciomercato reports that the 29-year-old midfielder could have interest from Serie A. The report states that both AC Milan and Juventus are weighing up a possible move in January.

12.04 BST: January is set to see a transfer battle for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez, according to Tuttomercatoweb. The 25-year-old was wanted by Inter Milan, Tottenham, Napoli, Roma and Fiorentina over the summer but a move didn't materialise.

The report states that Nandez wanted to move to Inter but a deal could not be agreed, and that could open the door for a move abroad in the New Year.

11.18 BST: Georginio Wijnaldum has told L'Equipe that he left Liverpool for Paris Saint-Germain because he didn't feel wanted at Anfield anymore -- though he was very close to signing for Barcelona and had other interested parties, too.

"A few months ago, I wanted to stay at Liverpool, but without going into the details, I didn't get the feeling they wanted to keep me," he said. "In these cases, you have to move forward. Barcelona came up. I was really happy because, since I was a kid, like with the majority of Dutch players, it's been the club of my dreams, even if I have to admit that my idol was Zinedine Zidane, a Real Madrid player!

"I was keen on the idea of signing for Barcelona. But the negotiations lasted a while and eventually PSG came forward. The club showed their desire to have me. It was time for me to see something else.

"There were discussions with Bayern Munich but they started further back. I also spoke with Inter Milan, who made a very good impression on me, the sort that as a player you want to have."

10.30 BST: Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has said he expects Kylian Mbappe to stay beyond this season and denied that the club received a final deadline day offer worth €200m from Real Madrid for the forward.

The French club refused to negotiate over a deal for Mbappe last month, despite the 22-year-old having just a year left on his contract. Sources in Madrid previously told ESPN that Madrid made bids of €160m, €180m and finally €200m on Aug. 31 before the transfer window closed.

"I don't see Mbappe leaving at the end of the season," Leonardo told Canal+ on Tuesday. "The relationship Kylian has with PSG is deep. Nobody is thinking about the future of PSG without Kylian. I can't imagine it.

"Honestly we weren't happy with Real Madrid's behaviour. Starting talks for one of the best players in the world in the last week of the market caused a situation that we didn't like. Our position was clear with the offer. It wasn't enough for us. It was less than what we paid.

"The last offer that people talk about never arrived. You can't plan a transfer market for two, three or four months and change your plans just like that."

09.47 BST: Paulo Dybala is confident he will soon sign a new contract with Juventus. The Argentina international is into his seventh season at Juve and becomes a free agent next summer.

Dybala, who scored in Tuesday's Champions League triumph over Malmo, told Sky Sport Italy: "We hope to complete the contract extension soon. Everyone's desire is for the negotiation to be completed; I believe that during the week there will be another meeting between the parties. They know that on my part there is a great desire to stay in Turin, I know that the management also wants to extend my contract and we have resumed talks.

"I hope that everything will be over soon and good news can arrive for everyone, I am very confident."

Dybala will have a more prominent role at Juve following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United this summer.

"He is at the centre of our project," Juve vice-president Pavel Nedved said. "We are focusing on him. We will try to complete the negotiation very soon so he can sign the new contract; he is too important a player for Juventus."

09.00 BST: Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez was a man in demand in the summer, and Gazzetta dello Sport now reports that Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur all had transfer bids turned down for the 24-year-old.

Lautaro has less than two years remaining on his contract, leading to intense speculation that he would move on before his transfer value depreciated. But after Inter sold Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for €115m they were able to hold onto Lautaro. The Argentina striker remains in talks over a contract extension.

Gazzetta says that Real Madrid were very interested, but didn't table a transfer offer. Three bids were lodged, from Atletico and Tottenham at €90m, while Arsenal put in a lower offer.

The report states that Inter after confident that Lautaro will improve further this season, and they could get a transfer fee of above €100m.
