The summer transfer window is closed for the top leagues in Europe! After a summer full of international football, countless clubs waited until the last minute to pull off their transfers. Borussia Dortmund are set to reject any approach for wonderkid Jude Bellingham, despite interest from Liverpool, according to Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be monitoring the England international with a potential move for a transfer next summer to help bolster his midfield options.

The 18-year-old's contract still has four years left on it with no release clause involved, allowing the Bundesliga club to potentially stand strong on their stance of not losing the midfielder.

Bellingham joined Dortmund from Birmingham City last season for roughly £20 million after becoming the Blues' youngest ever player to represent the club at just 16 years old.

Since then, he has been involved in Gareth Southgate's squads, making his England debut in November of 2020 and making three appearances at the European Championship.

As for Liverpool, Klopp lost Georginio Wijnaldum on a free at the end of his contract in the summer and was not able to find a replacement in the transfer market but has since been linked with a few to fill that void.

Bellingham has experience playing with Liverpool players in the England side, most recently lining up with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in midfield at Wembley against Andorra.

21.57 BST: Leeds United will return in January to get a deal over the line for Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O'Brien. Football Insider writes that the club are refusing to give up on a move for the midfielder after failing to convince the Terriers to let their star go last month. Marcelo Bielsa's side made four bids for the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window, with the final offer reported to be in the region of £13m.

21.24 BST: Marcelo Brozovic wants around €6m a season to remain at Internazionale beyond next summer, writes Calciomercato. The Nerazzurri are keen to keep hold of the Croatia international, but the club and player will need to work to find a middle ground from a current offer that is around €3.5m annually. The midfielder has a year remaining on his deal, prompting a number of clubs to register their interest in the 28-year-old, including Paris Saint-Germain, who are keen to add Brozovic if he becomes available as a free agent.

20.51 BST: Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter is on the shortlist to replace Mikel Arteta in the Arsenal dugout, alongside Thomas Frank of Brentford, according to TeamTalk. The Gunners boss is under pressure after three straight defeats in the league have left the North London club at the foot of the table, and with a vital Premier League match against Norwich City coming up on Saturday, reports suggest that replacements are already being lined up.

20.18 BST: Despite rumours linking the midfielder away from the club, Mesut Ozil has no intention of leaving Fenerbahce, writes CalcioInPillole. The former Arsenal star is said to be happy at his boyhood club, where he wears the captain's armband and maintains the full support of the president and head coach Vitor Pereira.

19.45 BST: Lyon will challenge for the signature of Andre Onana as a successor to goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, writes Le10 Sport. The Ajax goalkeeper has been at the heart of speculation with his contract at the Eredivisie side set to expire next summer, with Internazionale recently reported as one of the clubs also keen on the 25-year-old.

19.12 BST: Internazionale midfielder Nicolo Barella contract talks are set to be stepped up with the Serie A champions preparing to offer the captain's armband to the 24-year-old, writes Gazzetta dello Sport. The Nerazzurri see the 24-year-old as a vital part of plans for the future, and with Lautaro Martinez talks entering the final stages, the Italy international is reported to be the next priority for the hierarchy at the San Siro.

18.39 BST: Super-agent Jorge Mendes is offering Barcelona star Ansu Fati to a number of top European clubs to ensure his client is not offered a reduced salary, according to Catalan outlet El Nacional. Manchester City are reported as one of the clubs that the Spain winger was offered to, with Pep Guardiola refusing to enter the race due to his positive relationship with the Blaugrana and president Joan Laporta.

18.06 BST: The Standard has revealed that Chelsea are working on a new contract offer for N'Golo Kante. The France international has returned to his best form since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and is set for improved terms on his deal that runs until 2023. After some recent injury problems, the Blues are also looking to recruit depth in centre-midfield to help ease the heavy workload that the 30-year-old carries.

17.33 BST: Antonio Rudiger is continuing to attract interest with Tottenham Hotspur keen on a move for the defender, according to the Daily Express. Daniel Levy plans to bolster the squad's defence in January, and with the Germany international's contract talks with Chelsea in limbo and his deal expiring in the summer, Spurs are beginning to circle over a potential deal that would keep the 28-year-old in London.

17.00 BST: David Luiz has finally decided his next move! And as reported earlier this week on our live blog, the former Arsenal defender will continue his career in Brazil, Fabrizio Romano has revealed. The centre-back is set to join Flamengo on a deal that will run until December 2022, having rejected offers from both Marseille and Serie A side Salernitana.

16.29 BST: Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has revealed that the Italian club tried to sign Erling Haaland four years ago.

Haaland was stil playing for Molde in his homeland of Norway back in 2017, when he turned down the chance to join Serie A giants Juve on loan.

Asked by Tuttosport if Juve regret missing out on Haaland, Cherubini said: "We do, it would be stupid to say something different. However, things must be put into context.

"Young players can be scared about going out on loan, we were at the beginning of our U23 project and perhaps the perspective we offered him wasn't too exciting.

"Maybe the idea of going out on loan wasn't ideal for a player like him. Maybe today, things would be different."

15.32 BST: Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele wants to fight for his place in the team having previously told the club that he wants to leave, the London Evening Standard reports.

Ndombele, 24, is yet to make an appearance under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, and in his absence Spurs are top of the Premier League after winning their first three games.

Tottenham's club-record signing asked to leave this summer, but the Standard reports that he now wants to win back his place in the side following talks with Nuno and sporting director Fabio Paratici.

14.46 BST: Sergio Aguero has said he never considered quitting Barcelona and denied there was any exit clause in his contract related to Lionel Messi's departure.

Aguero, 33, joined Barca on a free transfer from Manchester City in June, signing an initial two-year deal at Camp Nou.

However, after Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain in August, reports in Spain suggested Aguero could follow his international teammate out the door.

"I would sign for Barca again [knowing the circumstances now], no doubt," Aguero told the radio station RAC1 on Thursday. "I don't understand why [me leaving] was spoken about. When I signed, Leo, in reality, hadn't signed anything still. At no moment was there an exit clause related to Leo, that was invented [by the media]."

13.55 BST: Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has said it was Saul Niguez's decision to leave the club and join Chelsea, suggesting a return when his season-long loan ends may be unlikely.

Saul, 26, moved to Stamford Bridge on deadline day and has since said he felt he was "stagnating, playing out of position" under Atletico coach Diego Simeone.

"Saul wanted to go," Cerezo told Onda Cero radio on Thursday night. "We accepted that was his wish."

He also revealed that the midfielder's Chelsea contract was agreed at 11.57 p.m. -- three minutes before the close of the window in Spain -- allowing the club to complete the return of Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona in a last-minute deal.

13.09 BST: Real Madrid are tracking Penarol and Uruguay forward Agustin Alvarez, Diario AS reports.

The 20-year-old scored for his country on his international debut in their 4-2 win over Bolivia this week.

Alavarez -- who has a contract at Penarol until 2024 and a €20m release clause -- is a friend of Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde, according to the newspaper.

The striker has already scored 27 goals for his club at senior level and AS claims Madrid are considering him as an option to lead the line for their B-team Castilla.

12.14 BST: Everton are planning to revive their attempts to sign Arsenal's Ainsley Maitland-Niles in January, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

The 24-year-old was close to joining the Merseyside club this summer before Arsenal blocked a deal on deadline day following talks between the player and manager Mikel Arteta.

Maitland-Niles has become frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities at the Emirates Stadium -- he took to Instagram near the end of the window to declare "all I wanna do is go where I'm wanted and where I'm gonna play" -- having spent the second half of last season on loan at West Brom, making 12 Premier League appearances.

Arteta told Maitland-Niles he remains part of his plans but sources have told ESPN that Everton are expected to test Arsenal's resolve to keep him January, particularly if he continues to struggle for opportunities. Everton were previously in talks over an initial season-long loan with an option to buy before negotiations collapsed.

11.23 BST: Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is set to turn down a new contract offer from the club because he "dreams" of a move to the Premier League, according to Le10Sport.

Coman, scorer of the winning goal for Bayern in the 2019-20 Champions League final, has a deal with the Bundesliga champions until 2023.

However, the 25-year-old -- who has won league titles in his native France, Italy and Germany -- now reportedly wants to add the English crown to his collection.

Le10Sport reports that reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Liverpool are both interested in signing Coman.

10.34 BST: Sergi Roberto will be the next Barcelona player to accept a pay cut, president Joan Laporta has announced.

Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have already agreed to restructure their salaries to help the Catalan club lower a dangerously high wage bill. Roberto, 29, will now follow suit by signing a two-year contract extension on reduced terms, with his current deal due to expire in 2022.

"It's all agreed and just needs to be signed," Laporta said at the presentation of new striker Luuk de Jong. "Roberto, like the others [Pique, Alba and Busquets], who have all done so much to help the club, are Barcelona heroes."

Barça's wage bill at the end of last season was 110% of the club's revenue, Laporta revealed in the summer. However, following the departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, among others, the president says it's now around 80%.

09.47 BST: Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler says he would like to remain at the club beyond June 2023, when his contract expires.

Soler, 24, is in his sixth season at Valencia. He has attracted the attention of several clubs this summer. He won silver at the Olympics this summer with the national team and has started in Spain's last three World Cup qualifiers, scoring two goals.

"There has been interest but no offers," Soler said. "I would like to continue but you never know in football what can happen from one year to the next.

"I have a contract until 2023 and I'm calm. Whatever we have to discuss about contract extensions, it will be done in due time. I've been 17 at this club 17 years, since I was seven. I've always dreamed of playing for Valencia."

09.00 BST: Chelsea are set to revive their interest in Jules Kounde during the January transfer window if Sevilla lower their asking price back to around €50 million, where the two clubs almost found an agreement this summer, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

At the start of the summer, Sevilla were insisting any interested clubs had to meet Kounde's €80m buyout clause but that stance softened as the window wore on.

Sources told ESPN that Kounde is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and the 22-year-old is believed to have agreed the framework of a four or five-year contract.

Chelsea remain interested in pursuing an agreement but continue to be reluctant to pay Kounde's €80m buyout clause. They will, however, return in January if there are signs Sevilla are willing to revive negotiations at the reduced figure.
