TOP STORY: Chelsea looking for a slam Dunk
Could Brighton's Lewis Dunk be about to become the second most expensive English centre-back behind Harry Maguire?
The Times reports that Chelsea are very interested in signing the 28-year-old and are ready to meet the club's £50 million valuation.
Dunk has enjoyed a fine season on the south coast and was linked with Leicester City after their £85m sale of Maguire to Man United over the summer, before the Foxes went with other options.
The defender has an international cap, picked up in England's 3-0 win over the United States in November 2018, and could provide a welcome boost to Frank Lampard's backline in the latter stages of the season.

21.41 GMT: Norwich have confirmed the capture of midfielder Lukas Rupp from Hoffenheim, the relegation-threatened club signing the 29-year-old to a two-and-a-half-year contract.

20.48 GMT: In search of cover for overlapping centre-backs Jack O'Connell and Chris Basham, Sheffield United are targeting 22-year-old Elias Cobbaut of Belgian giants Anderlecht and Ipswich Town's 21-year-old Luke Woolfenden to reinforce the heart of their defence, according to the Mirror.
19.55 GMT: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes that Atlanta United are preparing to send 19-year-old Andrew Carleton -- a once highly touted U.S. youth international - out on loan after the attacked made just 11 appearances across three seasons in MLS.
19.02 GMT: Layvin Kurzawa has just six months remaining on his Paris Saint-Germain contract, and L'Equipe reports that the 27-year-old's future likely resides beyond the Parc des Princes, and adds that the left-back has already rejected a pre-contract with Inter that included a substantial signing bonus.
18.09 GMT: AC Milan are preparing to sell playmaker Suso this month, with the 26-year-old having fallen out of Stefano Pioli's first XI, according to Calciomercato.
17.16 GMT: Barcelona's ideal long-term successor to Luis Suarez's No. 9 shirt has been Inter's Lautaro Martinez, but with the Uruguayan suffering a knee injury that could keep him out for the rest of the season, the Catalan club have had to identify temporary replacements. Mundo Deportivo writes that the list includes Girona star Cristhian Stuani, Osasuna's Chimy Avila, Major League Soccer MVP Carlos Vela and Gabriel Barbosa, the hero of Flamengo's 2019 double.
16.23 GMT: While Nemanja Matic has been rumoured to leave Manchester United for months, injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba - and the latter's uncertain future - have led the Red Devils to plan on triggering the 31-year-old's club option, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2021, according to the Sun.
15.30 GMT: Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has said that star midfielder Christian Eriksen's poor form is due to ongoing transfer speculation over his future at the club.
Eriksen, whose contract is set to expire in the summer, is only interested in moving to the two Spanish giants, Real Madrid or Barcelona, or, as a third choice, Juventus, sources previously told ESPN.
"If you ask me if this is the best Christian Eriksen, I have to be honest and say no," Mourinho said in a news conference on Monday.
"I'm not an idiot, I've been in football for many years. A player who is in this position, it's normal that a player in this situation doesn't perform at the highest level."
14.42 GMT: Barcelona will turn to Osasuna forward Ezequiel "Chimy" Avila to replace the injured Luis Suarez, according to El Chiringuito.
Suarez will undergo knee surgery and faces up to four months on the sidelines, forcing Barca into the market.
Avila has scored nine goals in 18 games for Osasuna this season.

14.18 GMT: Update from 09.15 - Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has moved on loan to FC Nuremberg.
13.55 GMT: Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho with a classic non-update on Gedson Fernandes from his news conference.
"I am waiting for news," he said. "News can come or not. I'm more worried about Middlesbrough [next opponents in the FA Cup replay on Tuesday] than the market. Even if you get a player you cannot play him in a replay. So in this moment I'm not interested in Gedson or any kind of player."
13.35 GMT: While we're on the subject of Leicester. Danish publication Ekstra Bladet caught our eye with their use of the old "next Zlatan Ibrahimovic" headline.
Leicester are front of the queue for Vejle Boldklub striker Wahid 'next Zlatan' Faghir, but their £1m bid for the 16-year-old was reportedly turned down.
Can we agree he's only the next Zlatan if Faghir plays in every country in Europe and wins the league in pretty much all of them?
13.28 GMT: Leicester City are going transfer mad this morning. Midfielder George Thomas has joined Dutch Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag on loan until the end of the season.
13.40 GMT: Harry Kane's injury has made Tottenham realise how much they need a striker. In fact, The Independent reports that they want two!
PSG's Edinson Cavani, former Spurs striker Fernando Llorente and Aston Villa's Christian Benteke have been floated as options, but AC Milan's Krzysztof Piatek is the main target.
13.07 GMT: Young Leicester City striker Raul Uche has joined Spanish side Real Valladolid on a permanent deal.
Uche, 22, arrived in 2016 but failed to secure a first-team spot at Leicester.
12.56 GMT: Arsenal are reportedly keen on Inter Milan's young goalkeeper Ionut Radu, says FCInterNews.it.
Radu, 22, is on loan at Genoa but has dropped down the pecking order after the signing of Mattia Perin.
Nice are also monitoring the situation, but the report states that Inter have no desire to let the Romanian depart.

11.59 GMT: Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon have met to discuss the possibility of Bruno Fernandes moving to Old Trafford in January, sources have told ESPN.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas and United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward were present at a meeting at the club's Mayfair offices on Friday with discussions set to continue this week.
United are remaining tight-lipped about the prospect of signing the Portugal international but Sporting are pushing for a deal as they look to ease their financial difficulties. The meeting took place after intermediaries were asked to contact United at Sporting's request.
11.15 GMT: Man United, Chelsea and, curiously, West Ham, have all been beaten to the punch by Tottenham for the loan of Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes it seems.
Sky reports that Fernandes, 20, is heading to the Tottenham training ground today for a medical, after which he will complete an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy for £55m.
11.06 GMT: Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo has arrived in Dusseldorf ahead of a loan move to Schalke 04. The French defender will join the German club until the end of the season.
Todibo's departure leaves Barca with just three first-team centre-backs: Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti. Despite that, sources tell ESPN a new defender is unlikely to join in January, with the B team's Ronald Araujo set to provide the necessary cover.
Barca signed Todibo from Toulouse last summer but the 20-year-old has barely played. He has made three appearances this season, two in La Liga and one in the Champions League.
10.45 GMT: AC Milan have moved to strengthen their defence with the signing of Sevilla's Simon Kjaer.
Kjaer, 30, had been on loan at Atalanta but he's now joined another Serie A club instead, with Milan maintaining an option to buy in the summer. The Denmark international joined Atalanta had made six appearances for the Bergamaschi.
10.38 GMT: It's nice to see a player take the bull by the horns and state where he wants to go. Former Blackburn, Stoke and Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Roma, has done just that.
He told TF1's Telefoot: "I am Parisien. My whole family is in Paris. Of course, I would like the chance to play for this club."
10.10 GMT: After injury ruled out Luis Suarez for four months, should Barcelona enter the transfer market? Or have they already got his replacement?
09.48 GMT: Kevin Vogt has joined Werder Bremen on loan from Hoffenheim for the rest of the season.
Linked with Bayern Munich not long ago, the defender has seen his stock drop this season as he passed on the captain's armband after clashing with head coach Alfred Schreuder ahead of the winter break.
Vogt, 28, is set to reinforce statistically the worst defence in Europe's top five leagues. Bremen entered the season targeting a return to Europe, but an average of 2.41 goals conceded per match has seen them drop into the relegation zone.
09.35 GMT: Real Madrid full-back Achraf Hakimi, who is on a two-year loan with Borussia Dortmund, has spoken to Ruhr Nachrichtento to reveal that he is yet to decide his next move.
The Morocco international is set to return to Real Madrid in the summer. However, the defender has also been linked with Bayern Munich, who are looking to reinforce their defence.
Hakimi said that his "heart is split between Madrid and Dortmund," while adding: "It's still six months until the summer and there are many games to be played. In the end, it's down to me to weigh up: Which advantages speak for Dortmund and what can I expect at Madrid?"
Hakimi has impressed at Dortmund, especially going forward, with coach Lucien Favre moving him into an attacking position. The 62-year-old told kicker: "I think in the long run it's better for him when he plays towards the opponent's goal."
09.22 GMT: Nathaniel Phillips has returned to VfB Stuttgart from Liverpool.
The defender's original loan was cut short amid Liverpool's recent busy period of games where he debuted in the 1-0 FA Cup vs. Everton. But the 22-year-old has now returned to the German second division club and will reunite with his teammates in the club's winter training camp in Marbella ahead of the restart of the league in late January.
09.15 GMT: Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is heading out on loan, but it seems the Gunners have only managed to tempt German second division side FC Nurnberg into taking him on.
The Greek is having a medical now, says Sky Sports, while hoping to get a bit more playing time for the rest of the season.
09.00 GMT: Watford are set to confirm the signing of Udinese winger Ignacio Pussetto, with the final details ironed out on Monday morning, sources have told ESPN.
Pussetto, 24, can play on the wing and up front. The transfer sees Pussetto swap one Potto-owned club for another, with Giampaolo running Udinese and Gino, his son, in charge of Watford.
08.50 GMT: Ex-Monaco president Vadim Vasilyev has been speaking to Journal du Dimanche about the future of PSG star Kylian Mbappe.
"Kylian will generate the biggest transfer fee in history -- there is no doubt," he said. "A big club will have to be prepared to pay at least €300m. The amount might sound incredible, but we must not only think about what he brings on the pitch. He will also provide commercially. For me, the question of his transfer will not arise this summer -- it is too early. It is important that he continues to progress individually and collectively. It would be even more beautiful to win the Ballon d'Or in PSG colours."
08.32 GMT: Manchester United full-back Ashley Young wants out and won't sign a new deal before his contract expires this summer.
But while Inter Milan are reported to the front of the queue, Crystal Palace and Lazio have joined the race for the 34-year-old says the Sun.
08.00 GMT: Diario AS reports that Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will join Spanish second division side Real Oviedo until the end of the season.
According to the sports daily, Madrid are ready to bring an early end to the goalkeeper's loan spell at Real Valladolid.
Lunin, 20, has made just two Copa del Rey appearances for the La Liga side since joining on a season loan from Madrid. A move to Oviedo would give the Ukraine international more playing time.
Lunin, who won the 2019 U20 World Cup and was awarded the Golden Glove in the tournament, is expected to be Madrid's reserve next season once Alphonse Areola returns to PSG.

United have seemingly been busy because as well as making a move for Fernandes, they have been watching Moussa Dembele, as has been reported by French journalist Ignazio Genuardi.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also reported to be keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, who has 11 Ligue 1 goals for Lyon so far this campaign.
The Old Trafford club are ready to hijack any potential deal from their Premier League rivals, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add further firepower to his squad, despite Marcus Rashford's goal scoring exploits.
They will likely have been impressed by what they saw, as Dembele scored the winner in a 2-1 win against Bordeaux just three minutes after assisting Maxwel Cornet's equaliser.
