TOP STORY: Juve ready to pounce if Pogba becomes available
With Paul Pogba yet again out in the cold at Manchester United, some of Europe's biggest clubs are reportedly ready to jump at the opportunity to sign the World Cup winning midfielder.
According to Calciomercato, one of those clubs is his former side Juventus, who are strongly pushing for a dramatic return to Turin. With Pogba set for surgery that will sideline him a further three to four weeks, many suspect that the Frenchman's days in the Premier League are numbered.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted after Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Arsenal that the recent rash of injuries could force the club could pursue reinforcement options during the January transfer window, with sources telling ESPN that Emre Can and Sean Longstaff are among those being considered.
"If [signings are] available and it's possible, we'll do something, definitely. We're looking at one or two," Solskjaer said.

23.00 GMT: Man United have been linked with seemingly every player under the sun ahead of the January window, so why not add Norwich's Todd Cantwell to the list.
The 21-year-old attacker has caught the eye in his debut Premier League season, having scored six goals for the Canaries, and is reportedly being monitored by the Red Devils. The England Under-21 international fits Man United's recruitment strategy of targeting young British players, ie Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Cantwell, is valued at £30 million by Norwich and has also been linked with Manchester City and Tottenham. Other British midfield targets for United in January include Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, Leicester City's James Maddison and Newcastle's Sean Longstaff.
22.10 GMT: The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed ex-Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua from VfB Stuttgart.
The 30-year-old has played for Galatasary, Sporting CP, Atletico Madrid and VfB Stuttgart and will occupy an international roster spot for the Galaxy. Five times capped for Argentina, Insua made 62 appearances for Liverpool between 2006-10 and becomes the fourth ex-Red to join the Galaxy following Abel Xavier, Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard.
21.22 GMT: Despite Tammy Abraham's breakout season, Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a striker this January.
One name being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge? Moussa Dembele. Despite Lyon insisting Dembele is not for sale, as we mentioned earlier, Chelsea have reportedly made a bid for the Frenchman.
Sky Sports News claims the Blues have had a €40 million bid (£34m) bid for the former Fulham and Celtic man. Dembele, who has scored 10 goals in 18 games this season and last season bagged 20, is also being linked with Man United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
20.35 GMT: And there it is...
Juventus, as expected have signed teenage midfield target Dejan Kulusevski from Parma for an initial €35 million. The 19-year-old Swede, who has seven goals and four assists this season for Parma, will finish the rest of the season on loan for I Crociati.

Juventus have signed the player through 2024 and with incentives the deal could rise to as much as €44m.
19.49 GMT: Aston Villa defeated Burnley 2-1 on Wednesday but the victory came at a massive cost to the relegation fighters.
Villa lost summer signing and hulking forward Wesley to a season-ending ACL injury and also fear that goalkeeper Tom Heaton could be lost for the year with a knee injury. With two massive holes to fill and currently right in the thick of a relegation battle, Villa will now surely be spending on replacements during the winter transfer window.
The Mirror writes that Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi, who last season scored five goals in 11 games while on loan at Crystal Palace, could be an option. The 'Batman' has started just two games this season, both in the EFL Cup, and is behind the in-form Tammy Abraham, as well as Olivier Giroud at Stamford Bridge. Batshuayi, 26, has scored some timely goals for the Blues and could be a viable No. 1 option for a club at the level of Villa.
In terms of goalkeeper, expect Villa to return for summer target Jack Butland of Stoke, says the Daily Mail. The England man, also 26, is wasting away with the Championship strugglers and would fetch a pretty penny for a club in need of a major overhaul.
Like in the summer, Villa figure to busy in the transfer window and with long-term injuries to three of the club's pillars (Wesley, Heaton and John McGinn), the Villains will need to buy wisely if they are to avoid the drop.
19.03 GMT: Middlesbrough have added a talented youngster, welcoming Man City winger and former England underage international Patrick Roberts on loan until the end of the season.

Roberts, 22, came through the youth ranks at Fulham and was signed by Man City in 2015 for a fee believed to be around £12 million. The tricky winger enjoyed three fruitful season seasons on loan at Scottish champions Celtic but has since struggled in loan spells with Girona and most recently Norwich.
Boro head coach Jonathan Woodgate said: "It's great Patrick has signed up for the club.
"He's an exciting player, he wants to play games, and he has the bit between his teeth.
"He fits the mould of what we're looking at. He's young and hungry, and wants to do well.
"I'm absolutely delighted to have a player of Patrick's calibre at this football club."
Middlesbrough are currently sixteenth in the Championship table but sit just seven points out of the play-off places.
18.32 GMT: Leicester City are going well, as they surprisingly sit second in the Premier League!
The Foxes are looking to get even stronger in January, and many outlets are tabbing them to sign a centre-back. Sky Italia claims that Leicester are leading the race over Arsenal for talented Juventus centre-half Daniele Rugani. The 25-year-old has only made three appearances this season for the Old Lady but was once one of Juventus' highest-rated youngsters.
The report says that Leicester are keen on signing Rugani, with the club still yet to replace Harry Maguire, who was sold last summer to Manchester United for a record £80 million. Juventus are asking for £25m for Rugani but reports suggest that the Serie A giants could wind up loaning him out with an option to buy.
17.17 GMT: West Ham No. 1 Lukasz Fabianski just returned to action after a long layoff from a torn hip muscle, but the Hammers could still add a goalkeeper in January.
With veterans Roberto and David Martin having been used during Fabianski's spell on the sidelines, West Ham fell they need to strengthen the depth at that position, with former No. 1 Darren Randolph an option, according to Sky Sports. The Republic of Ireland international is currently with Middlesbrough and last season was named to the PFA Team of the Season in the Championship.
It would seem unlikely a goalkeeper of Randolph's ilk would accept a backup job, even in the Premier League, so West Ham may need to look elsewhere, with former Stoke, Chelsea and Bournemouth 'keeper Asmir Begovic reportedly an alternative.
16.32 GMT: This one has come out of nowhere. Manchester City are interested in signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, says Le10 Sport.
Abraham is reportedly asking for a big new contract now he's playing regularly and scoring goals, but surely he wouldn't move to the Blues' Premier League rivals, would he?
Though if he were considered a replacement for the ageing Sergio Aguero, we could see why he might be keen.
15.55 GMT: Arsenal WILL be looking to sign someone this January, with injured defender Calum Chambers joining Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin on the sidelines, but fans shouldn't get too excited just yet.
"We are going to try and be in the market to see options that can strengthen the team. That's for sure and that's our obligation and we're going to be working on that," boss Mikel Arteta told a news conference. "My obligation is to give my opinion on the things that we can improve. But the reality at the moment is we are not going to be able to do much.
"I am more concerned to get people back from injures than the signings and to try and improve the players that I have here. If something extra comes up and we think it's the right opportunity to improve what we have, let's do it."
15.25 GMT: Turkish newspaper Turkiye claims that Tottenham and Burnley have both had offers rejected for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.
Muriqi, 25, isn't going to be allowed to depart before the end of the season, according to Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, but that hasn't stopped Spurs from trying to land the Kosovo international as a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.
15.04 GMT: Manchester United target Gedson Fernandes could be on the move as Sky Sports reports that Benfica are listening to offers.
Fernandes, 20, is highly rated and Benfica are looking for a bid that allows an 18-month loan with an option to buy.
Lyon and AC Milan have also shown interest in the Portugal midfielder, with United favourites to land him.
14.28 GMT: Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye.
The Senegal international has agreed personal terms with the club and is expected to sign a six-month loan with an option to buy. The 29-year-old has previously played for Galatasaray and Osmanlispor in Turkey.
Trabzonspor President Ahmet Agaoglu made the following statement regarding the midfielder to TurkishFootball: "We will release a statement regarding the Ndiaye transfer and fees to the Public Disclosure Forum (KAP) on Friday."
14.16 GMT: Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi hasn't been playing much and could be leaving Stamford Bridge along with Olivier Giroud.
Earlier (12.08 GMT), Foot Mercato reported that the club were trying to buy Moussa Dembele from Lyon and now they say Batshuayi could be sold to Aston Villa after an initial loan spell.
14.02 GMT: Wolves are looking to sign a player from Barcelona ... Ok, it's Ecuadorean side Barcelona SC.
Sky Sports reports that striker Leonardo Campana is on the radar after top scoring at last year's South America U20 Championship for Ecuador.
13.20 GMT: Marca reports that Atletico Madrid are trying to sell Thomas Lemar this window as they look to raise funds for a new striker after losing Diego Costa to injury.
Lemar, 24, hasn't impressed this season since landing in Madrid back in 2018 for €72m from Monaco. The France forward almost joined Arsenal back then and it's the Gunners who are being talked about as his next destination too, as Mikel Arteta tries to rebuild the club.
Atletico want PSG's Edinson Cavani or Dortmund's Paco Alcacer but Lemar has to be sold first.
12.31 GMT: Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is reportedly the subject of interest from Real Madrid, says Le10sport.
Mane, 27, has a contract which will expire in 2023 and seemingly no desire to leave Anfield yet. But, all the same, Real have reached out to his representatives.
The Senegal star is seen as the perfect replacement for Gareth Bale in Madrid, but he would cost around €150m if a deal is to be done.
12.08 GMT: Chelsea can sign players now and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele is reportedly a target.
In fact, Foot Mercato says that the club have made a €40m bid for Dembele which has already been rejected. However, the Blues plan to return with an increased offer which will also include wantaway striker Olivier Giroud in exchange, something that Lyon might be very keen on.
11.36 GMT: Sport claims that Barcelona full-back Nelson Semedo could be on the radar of Manchester United.
Semedo, 26, wouldn't be coming in as a right-back though, given the club signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka for £50m in the summer, but would make a transformation into a winger while also covering at left-back.
The fact Semedo's agent is Jorge Mendes might have something to do with the speculation, so this could be a non-starter, especially as he's playing first-team football at Camp Nou.
11.11 GMT: Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club this month, but who will he pick?
ESPN round up the options here, while there's news that Inter Milan are top of the queue and have made contact over a move, while PSG are reportedly now interested too.
10.48 GMT: Roma's Javier Pastore has told La Voz (via RMC Sport) that he doesn't want to leave the club.
"In Italy, my words were misinterpreted. It was said that I wanted to return to France with Lyon. That is simply untrue," he said. "I am very happy in Rome -- I feel important and no, I am not thinking about leaving."
10.24 GMT: Spain international Paco Alcacer could leave Borussia Dortmund in January, following the €20m signing of Erling Haaland.
Alcacer, 26, has reportedly been unhappy with his situation at the Westfalenstadion over the past couple of months and both Sport Bild and kicker claim that Dortmund are willing to listen to offers now that his chances of first-team football have decreased.
Atletico Madrid are keen but might be put off by the striker's €40m pricetag.
10.00 GMT: Emre Can and Sean Longstaff are among the options being considered by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United deal with a midfield injury crisis, sources have told ESPN.
Longstaff was an option in the summer but Newcastle's valuation of £50m proved too big a stumbling block; Can is out of favour at Juventus and keen to leave but United face competition from Borussia Dortmund.
James Maddison remains Solskjaer's top midfield target but there is acceptance Leicester will not want to do business midway through a season during which they are challenging for a place in the top four.
09.30 GMT: Juventus are set to sign Atalanta's 19-year-old winger Dejan Kulusevski for €35m. The player is having a medical right now.
09.25 GMT: Tottenham could be set to move on veteran defender Jan Vertonghen and the Daily Telegraph reports that Napoli and Ajax are keen.
Vertonghen, 32, will be available on a free transfer in the summer and Spurs are ready to cut their losses and sell him this month.
09.10 GMT: Hertha Berlin have signed Argentina international Santiago Ascacibar from second-tier Stuttgart for a reported fee of €11m, the Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder is the first transfer for the capital club, coached by Jurgen Klinsman, in what is expected to be a busy transfer window and could see the Germans sign the likes of Arsenal's Granit Xhaka or Dortmund's Mario Gotze.
08.39 GMT: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that the recent rash of injuries could force the club could pursue reinforcement options during the transfer window.
Paul Pogba has been advised to undergo an operation related to an ongoing foot injury that could keep him out an additional three to four weeks, while fellow midfielder Scott McTominay has been ruled out for more than a month with knee ligament damage.
"Of course, it's playing on our decision-making when you've got two players out -- Paul out for a month and Scott for two," Solskjaer said after Wednesday's 2-0 defeat at Arsenal. "That will give us less options and we've got loads of games and important games. Still, it's got to be right and that's the point here.
"If [signings are] available and it's possible, we'll do something, definitely. We're looking at one or two."
08.00 GMT: Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has said Granit Xhaka will stay at the club after the Swiss midfielder produced a gritty performance to help his side to a 2-0 win over Manchester United on Wednesday.
Xhaka was in the firing line earlier in the season after he reacted furiously to fans booing him when he was substituted in a 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace in October. The incident led to him being stripped of the captaincy and also saw him left out of the side by Arteta's predecessor Unai Emery for a month.
Xhaka has started six of Arsenal's last eight league games but his agent said last week that the 27-year-old is targeting a move to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin. Arteta, however, said the midfielder has told him he wants to remain in north London, also praising him for his performance against United, which was Arsenal's first win in five matches and took them up to 10th in the standings.
"I think he's going to stay. I really like him. If we get him on board he can be a tremendous player for the football club," the Spanish coach told a news conference. "I love the way he is, the way he lives his profession. He is a great football player. Today he was excellent at cutting out passes and he made a lot of great passes. I like how focused he is, he's willing to learn."

Henrichs snubs Bayern interest in favour of RB Leipzig
Germany international Benjamin Henrichs is set to spectacularly reject Bayern Munich by instead agreeing a deal with table-topping RB Leipzig.
The full-back, who plays for AS Monaco, has been regularly linked with a move back to his country of birth. However, the assumption was that a return to Germany would see him end up at the Allianz Arena -- to play for Bundesliga champions Bayern.
But to the surprise of many, Bild and SportBild both claim that Henrichs has turned down the Bavarian giants, and will instead attempt to agree a deal with Julian Nagelsmann's RB Leipzig, who sit atop the Bundesliga during the winter break.
Milan keen on Matic deal in January
With his Manchester United contract set to expire this summer, AC Milan could be set to swoop for Nemanja Matic in January, according to Calciomercato. The United man is also being monitored by Inter, who the Italian publication claim may compete for his signature if an opportunity presents itself.
Matic has previously worked with Inter boss Antonio Conte during his time at Chelsea, potentially paving the way for a smoother transition. However, Calciomercato also states that the 31-year-old isn't the Nerrazzurri's first choice -- as Barcelona's Arturo Vidal remains their preferred option.
If Matic is to leave Man United, Milan would appear to be the most likely destination, so long as the fee involved is acceptable for both sides, with Milan reportedly harbouring concerns over the player's potential wage demands.

-- After sealing the transfer of Takumi Minamino last month, Liverpool are set to complete their January business by sanctioning a loan deal for young striker Rhian Brewster, the Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old has struggled for game time on Merseyside this season, featuring on just two occasions for the senior side in the EFL Cup. The Star claims that one of the interested parties is Swansea City, who have recently lost forward Sam Surridge after his parent club Bournemouth recalled him early from a successful loan spell in South Wales.
-- Wolves star Adama Traore hasn't ruled out the possibility of moving to Real Madrid, Marca reports. The 23-year-old, who has impressed with a string of stand-out performances this season, started his footballing career with Real's great rival, Barcelona, before making the move to English football. But his playing history doesn't appear to have put Traore off a move to the Bernabeu, with the Wolves star saying: "If I have to go to Real Madrid, I will go to Real Madrid."
