TOP STORY: Neymar, Alexis to set off chain reaction
As sources told ESPN FC that Barcelona are optimistic over completing a deal to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain, and our sources confirmed that Inter and Manchester United have agreed a 10-month loan deal for Alexis Sanchez to move to Milan, the resulting domino effect in the transfer market's final six days is about to begin.
Unsurprisingly, two of the clubs involved in these deals stand to be the primary movers and shakers in the resulting scramble for talent. Buckle up, as we detail Tuttomercato's musical chairs of European football set to unfold.
The primary player, naturally, is reportedly PSG. The moment Neymar's departure is confirmed, missing a talisman in their squad, the Parisians reportedly will send €70 million to Juventus in order to bring Paulo Dybala to the French capital. That much has been reported for weeks now, but the latest wrinkle is where things really get interesting.
Flush with Dybala money, Juve will then ring up Inter -- now with two new forwards in Alexis and Romelu Lukaku -- to negotiate the sale of frozen-out Mauro Icardi. Except that Inter aren't very keen on selling to their title rivals. And that brings us back to Paris, where sporting director Leonardo is said to be keen on pairing Dybala with compatriot Icardi, complementing a forward line that already boasts Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

23.15 BST: Man United to move for Jadon Sancho in 2020?
The Evening Standard claims that United are set to return to the table and make a major push to sign the 19-year-old Sancho next summer. United have cleared out some deadweight so to speak in Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, paving the way for the Red Devils to splash some cash next summer on the young England international.
The former Man City starlet was United's top target this summer but a lack of Champions League football and Dortmund's unwillingness to sell the youngster meant no deal got done. Sancho, who is valued at over £100 million, is coming off a season in which racked up 13 goals and 19 assists over all competitions. Stay tuned.
22.20 BST: After losing winger Rogerio to injury, Sassuolo could look to the Premier League for a replacement, reports gianlucadimarzio.com.
The Italian website claims that Sassuolo are interested in Chelsea youngster Kenedy and could move for him before the Sept. 2 deadline. Still just 23, Kenedy has spent the last season and a half on loan at Newcastle but is currently back at Stamford Bridge and facing an uncertain future.
Kenedy has yet to appear this season under Frank Lampard and with higher rated or more experienced options ahead of him, could be allowed to go out on loan by the Blues.
21.04 BST: Chelsea could be set to offload transfer bust Tiemoue Bakayoko.
RMCsport understands that the Blues are close to agreeing to a deal with Monaco that would see Bakayoko return to the principality, initially on loan with an option to buy for £32 million.
The Frenchman, 25, spent last season on loan with AC Milan before a clash with Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso. Bakayoko, who was was bought from Monaco in 2017 for £40 million, splayed 43 times during his lone season at Stamford Bridge.
20.11 BST: Fulham, who have had a mixed start to life back in the Championship, are reportedly already lining up a January transfer to bolster their promotion hopes.
Footballghana.com, via Leicestershire Live, claims that defensive midfielder/centre-back Daniel Amartey will sign with the Cottagers come January. The Ghana and Leicester man has not played for Leicester since breaking his ankle last October and was linked with a move to London during this past summer window.
According to the report, Amartey, 26, will join Fulham in January for £6.5 million amidst interest from Club Brugge and Sheffield United.
19.28 BST: Forward Timo Werner has signed a new contract at RB Leipzig but that doesn't mean he is staying at the club long-term.
The 23-year-old, who has been linked with Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the past, told Sport Buzzer he is happy at Leipzig but potentially open to new things in the future.
"I don't exclude anything. I am and remain a player of RB Leipzig."
Werner also confirmed that the club hiring Julian Nagelsmann played a key role in convincing him to stay and confirming the ambition of the club.
18.57 BST: What's next for Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara?
Sky Italia reports the club have called a meeting with the couple to reiterate that there is no place for the striker at Inter and that he will not climb his way back into the first team. Icardi, who previously wanted out of the club, has been replaced by Antonio Conte with Romelu Lukaku, but has recently said he plans to stay on at the San Siro.
Juventus and Napoli are two clubs watching this saga play out very closely, as both have great interest in acquiring a striker, who has been among's Italy's most prolific over the past five years. It seems at this point it is Napoli, Juventus, or training at Inter and not playing games for the Argentine.
18.19 BST: With injuries to forwards Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, PSG are scrambling to add an attacker before the Sept. 2 European deadline.
The Daily Mail writes that the French club are considering veteran Mario Mandzukic as an option, with the 33-year-old available after falling down the pecking order at Juventus. Mandzukic, 33, remains a very effective player at his age and after a failed move to Manchester United, is reportedly being monitored by PSG, Bayern Munich and Roma.
A big-game player, Mandzukic, who has scored in both a World Cup and Champions League final, would be an intriguing option for a PSG team that has collapsed on more than one occasion in the UCL in recent years.
17.32 BST: Portuguese left-back Raphael Guerreiro was recently offered an early contract renewal at Borussia Dortmund but seems in no rush to sign it.
The contract would reportedly raise his annual wages from €3 million to around €5m but Guerreiro wants more. One reason the attacking full-back has leverage is a report from German outlet Bild which claims PSG, coached by his former manager Thomas Tuchel, are ready to offer an annual salary of €8m for the player!
Dortmund hope to hold onto the 25-year-old as they make a run at winning the Bundesliga but Tuchel and PSG are reportedly pushing hard and are willing to pay a transfer fee of €25m and subsequently give the player a significant bump in wages. Stay tuned.
16.46 BST: Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and is a target for Sevilla, says Marca.
Monaco and AC Milan have been interested in the 26-year-old, along with Valencia and Real Betis. So far, his wage demands have reportedly put off a number of suitors.
16.03 BST: Celtic have signed Austria international right-back Moritz Bauer on a season-long loan from Stoke.

15.30 BST: After a move to Manchester United did not materialise this summer, Lazio are ready to offer Serbia midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a new contract, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Lazio have repeatedly said they would not sell Milinkovic-Savic for less than €100m, so this would be a good time to insert a relevant buyout clause.
14.53 BST: Reports suggest that Kasimpasa have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the transfer of Portugal winger Ricardo Quaresma.
14.39 BST: Borussia Dortmund love a bargain and former assistant coach Hendrie Kruzen has revealed they almost signed Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt back in 2017, before he signed for Juventus this summer for €75m.
"When Lukasz Piszczek got injured we had to make a lot of changes in the defence," he told SPOX. "Maybe we should have pushed for a high-profile new signing that summer.
"Unfortunately, when we had that difficult phase, as is often the case in professional football, we did not have the time to sort it out and to get new players in in the winter.
"We were already in talks with some of them, and those players were of a high calibre even for a club like BVB. I don't know whether they would've definitely signed or not but one of them went from Ajax to Juventus for a lot of money this summer."
13.37 BST: Arsenal have already lost one player to Juventus this summer but the Sun claims that 17-year-old Sam Greenwood could be next.
The striker impressed for England at the Under-17 European Championships and both Juve and AC Milan (who now have Ivan Gazidis among their executives) have been credited with interest, as well as the wonderfully non-committal "clubs in Germany."
13.10 BST: Any hopes that Ousmane Dembele would be included in Barcelona's offer to PSG appear to have been dampened by his agent speaking to Telefoot.
Moussa Sissoko said: "Ousmane stays 100%. There is no chance he will leave. He wants to, and will, win at Barca."
12.41 BST: Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen was linked to Tottenham and Arsenal before choosing a €30m move to Lyon and he's revealed why.
He told Foot Mercato, Andersen said: "There were good clubs, but Lyon was the best choice for me. I wanted to develop as a player, play the Champions League, be in a top team that fights for the title and Lyon was the best solution."

11.13 BST: Hard to imagine Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe getting angry with anyone, but Asmir Begovic has revealed the pair have fallen out.
Aaron Ramsdale is now the club's first-choice goalkeeper, with Artur Boruc back-up, as the Bosnia international has dropped to third.
He told the Athletic: "He made a decision as the manager. Of course I didn't like it. Any time you don't play, you don't like sitting on the bench. We had a discussion, we had a conversation about it, and we moved on from there. And obviously now, the manager feels like going in a different direction is the best thing for the club, for the team ...
"I'm trying to find the right solution for everybody and hopefully in the next (few) days, until the end of the transfer window, we will find a solution for me to go and play games. I feel physically as fit as ever."
10.35 BST: PSG are interested in Napoli's Kevin Malcuit, according to Foot Mercato. That's assuming they don't manage to get Barcelona to add Nelson Semedo into the deal for Neymar.
10.07 BST: Marca reports that Atletico Madrid striker Nikola Kalinic will join AS Roma on a season-long loan, with a €7m purchase option included in the deal.
According to the Spanish sports daily, Roma will announce Kalinic's arrival once the transfer of Partrik Schick to RB Leipzig is completed in the coming hours.
Kalinic has been looking to leave Atletico this summer in search of playing time -- he is now Atletico's fifth-choice striker after the arrival of Serbian forward Ivan Saponjic last month from Benfica.
09.34 BST: Correio da Manha claims that Real Madrid's interest in signing Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes has grown and a deal could be reached before the transfer window closes in Spain on Sept. 2.
According to the Portuguese newspaper, super agent Jorge Mendes is leading the negotiations for Fernandes, who was voted the best player in the Portuguese league last season, to join Los Blancos. With Madrid having failed to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United and due to the strong performances of Fernandes in Sporting's opening three league games of the season, the Spanish club have turned their attention to the Portugal international.
Manchester United pulled out of signing Fernandes after the club's scouts warned that the midfielder takes too many risks in possession. Fernandes is tied to Sporting until June 2023 and has a €100m release clause. However, Sporting are prepared to listen to offers in the region of €70m.
09.00 BST: LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joked about returning to Manchester United after claiming he is still good enough to play in the Premier League.
Ibrahimovic, 37, has scored 46 goals in 49 games for Galaxy since arriving from Old Trafford in 2018 but after United sold Romelu Lukaku this summer with Alexis Sanchez set to follow, he hinted at a comeback.
"I could play easy in the Premier League, so if United need me, I'm here," he said. "But Galaxy has me, so I'm sorry.
"Nah, I did my job in Europe. I enjoyed it, I have 33 trophies that I brought with me here and hopefully I can get something here. And then we will see where that adventure finishes."

Madrid to make last-minute move for Pogba
After Neymar reportedly told PSG that he only wants to join Barcelona, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is focusing all of his efforts on signing Paul Pogba, according to Marca.
Madrid are leaving it late to make their decisive move, but Zidane is clear in his insistence that his employers bring the Frenchman to the club.

The sticking point remains Manchester United's asking price, which is around €200m.
Pogba remains eager to leave and join Los Blancos, but the fee could prove too difficult for Madrid following an expensive summer that has seen them spend more than €300m.
Zidane also has Tottenham's Christian Eriksen and Ajax's Donny van de Beek on his shopping list, but he sees Pogba as a key part of his plans to topple rivals Barcelona and cross-city rivals Atletico.
Fallout leaves Spurs unclear on Eriksen future
Rumours of Christian Eriksen's departure from Tottenham have rumbled on all summer, and the Guardian is now suggesting that the Dane's future still remains unclear as a result of a falling-out between Eriksen's agent and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
The souring relationship between the two parties means there has been little attempt to resolve an issue that has made life difficult for boss Mauricio Pochettino. Eriksen is in the last year of his contract and is seemingly holding out for a dream move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, which means either Spurs lose a star player at a key phase of the season or they have an unhappy player on their hands who could leave for nothing in the summer.
Pochettino has complained of an unsettled start to the season and Eriksen has featured only once in three games.
Time will tell whether Spain's top clubs will make a move for the star before the end of the European transfer window, or wait until next summer. Either way, not helpful for Spurs as they prepare to face rivals Arsenal.

- It could be a busy end to the transfer window for Juventus, with Calciomercato reporting that Mario Mandzukic is closing in on a return to Bayern Munich.
- That departure would then free up some funds to bring in one of Ivan Rakitic or Arturo Vidal from Barcelona, Calciomercato cites Spanish programme El Chiringuito as reporting. Barca will be hoping to offload at least one player to Juve as they close in on the return of Neymar, and the suggestion is that Rakitic has already been offered to the Bianconeri.
