TOP STORY: Crunch time as Barca prepare final Neymar bid
With one week to go until the end of the European transfer window, Neymar's name continues to dominate the headlines.
Left out of PSG's game 4-0 win against Toulouse at the weekend, but with boss Thomas Tuchel suggesting he wants to keep the Brazilian striker in the French capital, sources have told ESPN FC's Moises Llorens that that Barca are preparing one last bid for Neymar's services.
Barca are one of three clubs, alongside Real Madrid and Juventus, looking to sign the 27-year-old, but sources have said that Barca CEO Oscar Grau, director Eric Abidal and executive Javier Bordas will meet with PSG sporting director Leonardo on Tuesday.
The offer is supposed to be a loan deal with an €170 million obligatory option to buy back Neymar's contract after one season, according to sources. Some outlets in Spain report that the deal could include a player such as Ousmane Dembele going to PSG.
The latest offer would be the third attempt to get Neymar back to Barcelona. Previous offers have include Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho, who is now at Bayern Munich on loan.
Injuries to Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani at the weekend could yet hamper the deal, plus PSG's owners are still seemingly reluctant to let go of their star man. Expect this one to go the distance!

The Liverpool Echo writes that the Reds have rejected approaches from Fiorentina and Nordsjaelland for promising 18-year-old forward Bobby Duncan, with the England U18 international netting 25 times for Liverpool's U18 squad, leading the club to believe in his first-team future.
22.11 BST: Inter attacker Joao Mario travelled to Russia on Monday night to undergo a medical with Lokomotiv Moscow ahead of a season-long loan that includes an €18m option to buy, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
21.24 BST: Nashville SC, slated to begin play in MLS next season, has signed Brondby attacking midfielder Hany Mukhtar to a Designated Player contract. Read the full story.
20.37 BST: Twenty-three-year-old Roma forward Patrik Schick, the most expensive signing in the Giallorossi's Monchi era, is closing in on a season-long loan at RB Leipzig that includes a €28m option to buy, according to Goal.
19.50 BST: The Sun cites Florence outlet La Nazione as reporting that Fiorentina have submitted an £18m bid for Manchester United midfielder Fred, but that the Red Devils are holding out for £27m plus a 30 percent sell-on clause for a man they paid £52m for barely a year ago.
19.03 BST: Amid difficulties in adding Paul Pogba to the squad, Real Madrid are turning their attentions to Sporting's €70m-rated Bruno Fernandes, Mundo Deportivo cites Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha as reporting.
18.16 BST: Football Italia is citing both Sky Sport Italia and Corriere dello Sport as reporting that Napoli have not given up hope of signing Mauro Icardi. The report suggests that the 26-year-old forward is to hold meetings with the Inter hierarchy, who are expected to inform him that he is not in the club's plans this season, opening the door for the Partenopei to swoop in the final 48 hours of the transfer window.
17.29 BST: U.S. women's national team star and Sky Blue FC midfielder Carli Lloyd has been approached by multiple teams in the NFL, one of which offering her a roster place and action in Thursday's preseason game -- an offer she declined, citing the U.S.'s friendly against Portugal -- according to FOX Sports.
"Knowing Carli, I don't think she would just hop on and do it," her trainer James Galanis is quoted as saying. "She would need a couple of weeks training just to get comfortable and acclimatized. But things have escalated and it is real.
"We are definitely thinking about it. Knowing Carli, this is why it is enticing for her, because it is a challenge. That's what Carli thrives on, it is the next thing she can conquer. That's why we have had half a dozen conversations about it in less than a week."
16.42 BST: Rachid Ghezzal was meant to be the new Riyad Mahrez for Leicester. But having signed from AC Monaco for £12.5m a year ago, the Algeria winger is set to move to Greek side Olympiakos.
Sky Sports reports that "Olympiakos are eager to agree a deal ahead of the Super League Greece transfer deadline on August 31."

15.20 BST: Midfielder Oriol Busquets has joined FC Twente from Barcelona on a season-long loan. There is no option included in the deal for the Dutch side to make the move permanent next summer.
Busquets, 20, was handed his Barca debut in the Copa del Rey in 2017 but a serious injury saw him miss most of last season. The Spanish champions now believe his development will be better served in the Eredivisie than in the Spanish third tier with the B team.
15.12 BST: Real Madrid starlet Vinicius Jr. does not want to leave the club, with president Florentino Perez refusing Paris Saint Germain's attempt to include him in any Neymar transfer this summer, sources have told ESPN FC.
Vinicius, 19, has had a difficult start to the campaign and was one of the Madrid players singled out for criticism following Saturday's 1-1 La Liga draw at home to Real Valladolid.
PSG reportedly tried again to take advantage of the situation by including the teenager in a deal which would see Neymar move to the Bernabeu, but sources have confirmed to ESPN FC that both player himself and club chief Perez immediately ruled out that possibility.
Sources said that Vinicius is relaxed about the situation, and understands that he did not have a great game against Valladolid. But he knows that he is still getting used to playing in a new position on the right wing, and remains focused on working hard to improve his performances.
Vinicius is poised to make his senior Brazil debut in next week's friendlies against Colombia and Peru.
14.47 BST: Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Turkish side Kayserispor on a one-year deal.
Adebayor, 35, left Istanbul Basaksehir in the summer after scoring 28 goals in 76 appearances. But he has now joined his ninth professional club.
"This is a league I know very well and I feel happy to be here," Adebayor told the club website. "We can only do something great together and I want to make positive contribution to the great quality already here at the club."
14.31 BST: Must be nice to be taken over by Britain's richest man. NICE! Get it?
Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe bought French side Nice for £91m yesterday and is now set to splash the cash to bring in a few players. And Ajax forward Kasper Dolberg, 21, is the first, according to the Daily Mail.
The others, according to French outlet Nice-Matin, are PSG defender Stanley N'Soki, Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice and Napoli midfielder Adam Ounas,
13.47 BST: Not that he's going to be there much longer himself, but PSG captain Thiago Silva has told RMC Sport about Neymar: "Yes, of course I want him to stay. He is an essential player for any team. He was indispensable for Barcelona and he is indispensable for us. I think it is a particular problem that is between the player and the club. We cannot go there. Of course, in my head, I hope he will stay. I told him that too. It is hard to keep telling him to 'stay, stay,' though."
The 34-year-old was also asked about his own future. "I want to finish my career here, in Paris, with PSG," he said. "However, it will depend on this season and how I do on the pitch. We will start speaking soon. I do not want to focus on that now, though, so we will see at the end of the campaign. I want to focus on my work and the team's work. I know that if we do things right this term, things will come naturally. I am ready to stay -- if the club wants that. I did not think I would stay with any club for eight years. It has been a dream to play in Paris and to live here."
12.55 BST: Roma's move for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is reportedly in trouble, so they are back in for Liverpool's Dejan Lovren, according to Corriere dello Sport.
12.09 BST: Diario Vasco reports that following Monday's meeting between the clubs, Real Sociedad and Arsenal have taken a step closer to reaching an agreement for the transfer of Nacho Monreal.
The deal was not completed but the two clubs are optimistic it can be done in the coming days. The 33-year-old left-back has one year left on his contract with Arsenal, with the London club having the option to extend it for a further year. However, they signed Celtic's Kieran Tierney this summer and already have Sead Kolasinac on the books, so Monreal has slipped down the pecking order.
Real Sociedad are looking to strengthen their defensive line before the transfer window closes in Spain on Sept. 2. La Real have offered the Spaniard a two-year contract and Monreal is prepared to lower his salary in order to move.
11.43 BST: SPORT reports that a possible solution to Juventus' interest in Ivan Rakitic could be loan, with an option to buy next summer.
Barcelona are not interested in a part-exchange deal, so it could be that a move for the Croatian midfielder takes the same form as their offer to bring Neymar back from PSG.
11.11 BST: TyC Sport reports that River Plate centre-back Lucas Martinez Quarta is a target of AC Milan.
According to the Argentinian outlet, the player's agent is in advanced talks with Milan to discuss the signing of the 23-year-old. Tied to River until 2021, the club are unwilling to sell for anything less than his €22m release clause.
10.32 BST: Atletico Madrid hope to close the sale of Angel Correa to AC Milan on Tuesday or Wednesday, sources have told ESPN, allowing them to then complete the signing of Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia.
Argentina international Correa agreed personal terms with Milan in early August, but the clubs have as yet been unable to reach a deal, with Atletico holding out for €50m and Milan offering less than €40m.
However, once that deadlock has been overcome, Atletico will put the Correa fee towards meeting Valencia's €60m asking price for Spain international centre-forward Rodrigo, who has already agreed personal terms.
09.57 BST: Let us just round up the latest in the "will Mauro Icardi stay at Inter?" saga. Remembering that Inter have already signed his replacement, Romelu Lukaku, and given his No. 9 shirt to their €80m new signing...
Icardi's agent and wife, Wanda Nara, told Mediaset TV show Tiki Taka over the weekend: "Right now [Antonio Conte] is not letting [Icardi] play but maybe he will. I'm not waiting for anything. Maybe someone told him to stay. Who? Maybe the one who runs the club.
"We have many friends in Naples. It's true -- he has said no to every destination that is not Inter. Everyone has known his choice since the start of the summer and that is the case for any team that has shown interest. In my view, at the end of the day, he will remain at Inter.
"He doesn't believe it's over at Inter. I don't know what's going to happen, but I do know his words when the transfer market opened. He has stayed consistent. There were offers that no player in the world would have turned down, but he said no for Inter."
However, Inter director Beppe Marrotta disagreed and hit out at Nara's comments, telling DAZN: "We greeted Wanda Nara's comments with a pinch of irritation, both for the timing and the method.
"I can also categorically deny that someone at the club told Icardi to stay at Inter, especially not President Steven Zhang. The strategy Inter have taken is precise and we communicated it clearly in the right time-frame. We'll continue like this to the end and nobody at Inter can change this common approach that is shared by everyone."
Gazzetta reports that there has been first contact between Juventus and Inter for a possible swap deal involving Paulo Dybala and Icardi. Surely he can't stay in Milan given all this aggro?
09.22 BST: Mathias Pogba says his brother, Paul, isn't disappointed to still be a Manchester United player.
Paul, a target of Real Madrid, declared earlier this summer his intention to seek a "new challenge." However, United do not want to sell him and, asked if his brother was uncomfortable not to have left United this summer, Mathias told AS: "No. He feels really well as always. I'm not going to say anything bad about United if that is what people expect. He is a professional and his present is there [Manchester]. His future? It depends on the clubs: that United want to sell and that Madrid wants to buy. That's the business.
"We all know that my brother would be a good [option] for Real Madrid and for [coach Zinedine] Zidane. The ones that have to talk are Madrid and Manchester United."
08.58 BST: Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has been strongly linked with moves to Napoli and Atletico Madrid, but will the Colombian go before the deadline? Corriere dello Sport reports that his recent injury is likely to scupper any move.
08.30 BST: Real Madrid are to wait until after Tuesday's meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona directors before making an offer for Neymar, sources at the Bernabeu have told ESPN FC.
Despite Barca's delegation travelling to Paris, Madrid's hierarchy remain optimistic that they can sign the Brazilian before next Monday's transfer deadline, as they do not expect PSG and Barca to be able to reach a deal for the player to return to Camp Nou.
Having spent over €300m on new signings this summer, bringing in around €115m in sales, Madrid would also have to put together a players plus cash deal to meet PSG's hopes of recouping the €222m they paid Barca for Neymar in 2017.

Ozil going nowhere, says agent
When Mesut Ozil was left out of the Arsenal squad to face Liverpool on Saturday, it suggested to many that the German international would be on his way before the end of the European transfer window. However, Turkish-football.com are reporting that Ozil's agent is insisting the player is staying in London this summer.
Ozil is yet to play a game this season but there have been mixed reports about his intentions for the year ahead. His omission at the weekend caused some English tabloids to put two and two together and report he was planning on making a move.
Now, however, Ozil's agent is insisting it has merely been a stressful few weeks after the player missed the first game of the season due to security concerns after he escaped an attempted carjacking in front of teammate Sead Kolasinac's home. Ozil then missed the Burnley game due to illness, and his agent says that Ozil is training hard to work his way back into the team, and looking forward to the rest of the season at the Emirates.
Matic unhappy at Man United
According to the Daily Mirror, Serbia international Nemanja Matic has demanded talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over his future at Man United.
The 31-year-old midfielder is angry after losing his first-team place at Old Trafford to Scott McTominay, who has started the club's opening three Premier League matches.
A firm favourite under former boss Jose Mourinho, Matic's situation is all the more confusing to him given the summer exits of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera. But Solskjaer is clearly a fan of McTominay, so a move might be on the cards if things don't change.

- The Gareth Bale saga looks like it could finally come to a climax this week, with the Welshman set to stay in Madrid. This comes as a result of Zinedine Zidane's U-turn. Speaking after his side's disappointing draw with Real Valladolid at the weekend, the Frenchman said that Bale wanted to stay at the club and that the club themselves were now counting on him this season.
- According to Tuttosport, Spurs striker Fernando Llorente will sign for Napoli this Tuesday. They're reporting that the Spaniard will join the Italian club on a two-year contract, with an option to extend it. The striker is set to earn €2.5m a year.
