Coronavirus lockdown: Mexico's Raul Jimenez gets baby gender reveal right second time around

With almost all football postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic, star players have found themselves at a loose end.

With many training grounds off-limits, clubs have sent footballers home, where they're adhering to an isolation period for the next few weeks. How are they passing the time?

ESPN will be keeping a daily eye on what the world's best are up to, as well as how clubs are keeping busy by battling in online competitions against each other.

Raul Jimenez

Raul Jimenez and his partner had to have a second go at a major announcement after getting one of the more substantial details wrong first time round.

Two months ago, the Wolves striker broke news that his girlfriend, Daniela Basso, was pregnant with a boy -- whom they were already naming Ander -- after staging an elaborate gender reveal in front of family and friends at Molineux.

However, after a slight mix-up, it has since been discovered that the couple are actually expecting a baby girl.

After making doubly sure this time, the father-to-be was left to issue a second update.

"A few weeks ago we announced the sex of our first child, but the stork confused us," Jimenez tweeted, along with a charming video in which Wolves mascots Wolfie and Wendy 'deliver' the news. "We are excited to announce [again] that it's a girl! It is not Ander, but Arya and we are excited to tell her about this adventure when she grows up."

Wolves congratulated the couple (again) by referencing their new choice of name, seemingly inspired by "Game of Thrones," in their reply: "Looking forward to meeting Arya of House Jimenez. First of her name."

Sergio Aguero

With football on the back burner, Sergio Aguero tried his hand at a different sport over the weekend by taking part in his first Formula One Grand Prix.

The Manchester City striker was one of several sporting celebrities to take part in the virtual event, along with fellow footballers Thibaut Courtois and Arthur.

Positioned in his professional gaming rig, Aguero showed some impressive skills as he tussled it out with golfer Ian Poulter in the middle of the pack.

Ultimately the Argentina international went on to finish in a respectable 14th place while the professional motorsport drivers competed for the podium.

Sergio Ramos

In a video directed by his young son, Sergio Ramos hit the home gym for a "football workout" made all the more impressive by the fact he was wearing a pair of Crocs throughout.

Besiktas

Besiktas players returned to individual training at the weekend though they were only allowed to re-enter the training ground after passing through a space-age disinfectant portal.
