Star Wars XI includes Bebe Yoda and Sergio Rey-mos, plus Ronaldo's mum gets car in coronavirus lockdown

It's May 4 today, and that can mean only one thing: #Maythe4thbewithyou is trending on social media.

Star Wars is such a cultural phenomenon that it has brought us plenty of joy at ESPN over the years, whether it's been a look at Star Wars Starting XIs, how football's rogues match up to those in the films, the next generation of young stars ready to shake up the galaxy, or when The Rise of Skywalker meets the world of soccer.

- You can now stream Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Disney Plus.

Thank you Star Wars. As a gift, we present a list of current players who would make it into our Star Wars XI.

Coronavirus lockdown

With almost all football postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic, star players have found themselves at a loose end.

With many training grounds off-limits, clubs have sent footballers home, where they're adhering to an isolation period for the next few weeks. How are they passing the time?

ESPN will be keeping a daily eye on what the world's best are up to, as well as how clubs are keeping busy by battling in online competitions against each other.

Cristiano Ronaldo

To celebrate Mother's Day in Portugal, Ronaldo went out and splashed some cash on a brand-new Mercedes for his mum, Dolores.

Shame she won't be able to drive it very far until lockdown is over.

Lukas Podolski

Despite the lockdown, there is good news for former Bayern and Arsenal striker Podolski. Indeed, the queues outside the German striker's doner kebab shop in Cologne have never been longer!

Georginio Wijnaldum

Over the weekend, Wijnaldum was finally forced to knuckle down, get the tool kit out and start attending to a long list of DIY chores that have started to stack up at the Liverpool midfielder's house.

David Beckham

Inter Miami owner Beckham turned 45 over the weekend and celebrated by blowing out his candles.

Sergio Ramos

A heavily bearded Ramos took his dogs (and the kids) for a walk on the beach.

Dani Alves

Possibly in reference to his bold new hair colour, Brazil legend Alves posed with a bunch of bright yellow bananas on his head.

Robert Lewandowski

Unlikely as it may seem, Bayern striker Lewandowski -- arch predator and goal-scoring colossus -- appears to be spending the majority of his time in lockdown filming solo dance routines for TikTok.

Drake

Meanwhile, rap superstar Drake ventured out into the back garden for a kickabout, only to prove that his ball control and shooting skills aren't quite on par with his rhymes.
