Matt Damon watches OM's 11 while filming in Marseille

Olympique de Marseille have recruited a new celebrity fan in the unlikely shape of Hollywood actor Matt Damon.

The star of the Jason Bourne movie franchise was spotted in the terraces at Stade Velodrome on Sunday as Marseille recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Saint-Etienne.

However, according to L'Equipe, Damon was in town to film scenes for his new thriller movie, reportedly entitled "Stillwater."

Damon had clearly heard about the wonderfully supportive atmosphere at the stadium and had gone in search of it for himself. In other words, he was good-will hunting. Sorry.

And in other actor-watches game news, Damon's Saving Private Ryan co-star Ted Danson watched Vancouver's home defeat against NYCFC on Saturday. Cheers!

Hammers chairman's odd Chicharito farewell

Javier Hernandez is a West Ham player no longer after completing a move to Sevilla on European transfer deadline day.

After the move was made official, Hammers chairman David Gold said farewell to Chicharito with a heartfelt tweet... which was accompanied by a truly perplexing choice of photo.

Hernandez departs having made 55 Premier League appearances for the Hammers over the last three seasons, scoring 16 goals in that time.

However, the enduring image will always be that time he dyed his hair bright orange and grinned alongside a packet of cheesy snacks.
