Toe Poke Daily: Celebrating International Dog Day!

The Toe Poke Daily is here every day to bring you all the weirdest stories, quirkiest viral content and top trolling that the internet has to offer, all in one place.

Dog days aren't overĀ

Play had to be temporarily halted during the Brazilian Championship game between CSA and Cruzeiro when a handsome four-legged interloper came trotting out onto the pitch.

Indeed, according to Globo, the dog pitch invasion (and the subsequent slapstick chase that ensued) was the first thing of interest to occur during the match, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

At one point during the charade, commentator Ledio Carmon even called for VAR to be checked!

And check out the steward who ends up face first in the dirt after a particularly pathetic attempt to catch the mutt.

Aug. 26 is International Dog Day, which gives us the perfect excuse to have a bit of a fun. But, be warned, some of the names in our dog-themed XI are a little, erm, ruff.

Also, we take a look at some of our favourite canine capers.

Neymar likes Barcelona posts

Barcelona registered their first points of the season on Sunday night as they cantered to a 5-2 victory over Real Betis at the Camp Nou.

Antoine Griezmann officially opened his account for the Catalans, scoring twice and even celebrating his first with a choreographed confetti shower.

Griezmann celebrated his personal milestone on Instagram, with teammate Sergi Roberto also sharing a photo of the French forward after providing the assist for his second goal of the evening.

Of course, thousands of fans responded to the images, but the most notable reaction was a couple of "likes" from Neymar -- a player who is being constantly linked with a big-money return to Barca.

As rumours about his immediate future continue to swirl and the European transfer deadline yet to pass, PSG will likely not be overly enthused to see their want-away striker congratulating rival players in such a public manner.

Pogba's brother lands TV show

Paul Pogba's older brother is set to star in his very own television programme in Spain, it has been announced.

Mathias Pogba, who is three years older than brother Paul, has been unveiled as a "new signing" by Spanish football talk show El Chiringuito.

Whether he plans to spill any family gossip remains to be seen but, according to Diez Minutos, Pogba the elder has already hinted that a certain sibling wants to sign for Real Madrid as soon as possible.

Having previous played in France, England and Italy, the 29-year-old forward is still an active professional footballer and currently plies his trade in the Spanish fourth tier with CD Manchego.
