Singapore international Sahil Suhaimi is poised to move to Malaysia Super League (MSL) side Sarawak after struggling for game time at S.League oufit Tampines Rovers.
The 24-year-old began training with Sarawak in Kuching over the weekend and hopes to sign with the Crocs in the mid-season transfer window.
Sahil is well remembered in Malaysia for coming off the bench to score two goals as LionsXII won the 2015 Malaysia FA Cup final against Kelantan at the National Stadium at Bukit Jalil.
"Tampines have been very supportive," Sahil told the New Paper.
If Sahil moved to Sarawak, he would join his international teammate Safuwan Baharudin in plying his trade across the Causeway, although Safuwan plays in the second tier for PDRM FA.
Sahil is back in Southeast Asia after a month-long training stint in England with Premier League side, Burnley.
He could replace a former S.League teammate in Mark Hartmann, who played alongside Sahil for Geylang International last season.
The Philippines international announced his departure from the East Malaysian state side on his Instagram account over the weekend.

Sahil has gone to Kuching with the blessing of Tampines Rovers' chairman Krishna Ramachandra.
"He asked me for approval, and we let him go and do his best. If all is well, we will release him," Krishna told The New Paper.
"It's good exposure for him, and we need more Singapore players overseas."
Sarawak face Perak in Ipoh in the MSL on Wednesday night ahead of an international break. They are 11th in the 12-team MSL, so they are looking at changing up their imports in a bid to avoid relegation.
Sahil, who has earned 19 Singapore caps since 2003, made four appearances for Tampines in their 2017 AFC Cup campaign.
