Ex-Guatemala federation chief due in U.S. federal court

Former Guatemala football federation president Brayan Jimenez was due to arrive in the United States and appear in Brooklyn federal court on Wednesday, according to reports.

Jimenez is among 16 Latin American football officials implicated in the FIFA corruption investigation.

At the time of his arrest in January, his defense attorney indicated he would not fight extradition. Jimenez allegedly took a bribe to sell the television rights to qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup.

Jimenez's attorney could not be reached for comment on Wednesday morning.
