Roy Krishna parts ways with Wellington Phoenix

A-League Johnny Warren Medallist Roy Krishna is reportedly set to join a South Korean club but says he won't reveal where he's going until after his belated honeymoon in late June.

The 31-year-old Fijian striker confirmed on Monday that he's leaving Wellington Phoenix and the A-League following a breakout season in which he won the A-League's Golden Boot award by scoring 18 goals in 26 games.

He was being courted by other A-League clubs but the Australian reports he has signed with a Korean club.

"After much thought and consideration and consultation with my family back in Fiji, we have decided to move on from the A-League to secure a future outside of the league," said Krishna in a Phoenix statement.

"We have negotiated a contract and we are currently working out the finer details.

"We will be announcing the club name when we are back from our belated honeymoon towards the end of June.

"I would like to thank the Wellington Phoenix family for the wonderful five years I've been here.

"Wellington will always be home.

"If I was going to stay in the A-League then I would have continued with the Wellington Phoenix as we have built a wonderful community together with the club and the wonderful Nix supporters."
