Australia to face France in Under-17 World Cup round of 16

Australia will face France in their FIFA Under-17 World Cup round of 16 clash on Wednesday in Goiania, Brazil.

The Joeys secured a place in the knockout stage with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria at the Estadio Bezerrao in Brasilia to finishing third in Group B behind the Africans and Ecuador.

France topped Group C with three wins against Korea Republic, Chile and Haiti.

The Joeys match against the French kicks off at 10 a.m. AEDT on Thursday at the Stadio da Serrinha with the winners advancing to a quarterfinal showdown against Spain or Senegal next week.
