Liverpool defeat hosts Bayern Munich at Audi Cup, face Atletico Madrid next

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten preseason record with an impressive 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Audi Cup on Tuesday.

First-half goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah staked Liverpool to a lead, before Daniel Sturridge added a third late on, though he was withdrawn almost immediately after the goal with an apparent injury.

Salah played alongside Mane for the first time since arriving from Roma for a club-record fee in June, and the duo used their blistering pace to devastating effect.

Just seven minutes in, Roberto Firmino dispossessed home debutant Corentin Tolisso inside his own half and then played in Mane, who drilled the ball beyond Sven Ulreich.

Salah made it 2-0 in the 34th minute after Mane's his clever footwork allowed Alberto Moreno to hit a cross-turned-shot that was parried by Ulreich into Salah's direction as he headed in at the back post to double.

Sturridge then made it 3-0 with an audacious 84th-minute lob over Ulreich to put Liverpool in Wednesday's tournament final, where they will take on Atletico Madrid, who rallied to defeat Napoli 2-1 in the earlier game.

Fernando Torres and Luciano Vietto scored to rally Atletico Madrid to a 2-1 win over Napoli in the opener of the Audi Cup in Munich on Tuesday.

Atletico keeper Jan Oblak had already saved a first-half penalty from Arkadiusz Milik before Napoli took the lead with Jose Callejon's volley in the 56th minute.

The Spanish side were forced to wait until the 72nd minute to equalise as Fernando Torres turned in a cut-back from Antoine Griezmann.

And the comeback was complete in the 81st minute following a corner that was flicked on to the back post, where Vietto was on hand to score, though Diego Godin managed to get himself sent off late on.

Borussia Dortmund's worrisome preseason continued with a 1-0 defeat to Serie A side Atalanta.

Christian Pulisic nearly opened the scoring for the German side but saw his 67th-minute attempt saved, and three minutes later Atalanta took the lead as Josip Ilicic took advantage of a poor distribution from goalkeeper Dominik Reimann.

It was Dortmund's third defeat of the preseason, after new coach Peter Bosz saw his side fall to fourth-tier side Rot Weiss Essen as well as Espanyol last month.

West Ham needed a late own goal to draw 3-3 with another German fourth-tier team, Altona 93, after going down to 10 men.

Altona had taken the lead with Nick Brisevac's fifth-minute free kick, but one minute later the Premier League side were level as Toni Martinez finished from the top of the box.

Dennis Thiessen restored the minnows' lead with a goal from distance on 39 minutes, and shortly afterward Winston Reid was sent off with a second yellow card for clapping toward the referee.

Andre Ayew got the Hammers back level, only for them to trail again four minutes later, and the Premier League club needed an own goal to save their blushes.

Javier Hernandez made his West Ham debut as a late substitute and had a shot cleared off the line after he rounded the keeper.

Joselu's pair of goals were not enough for Stoke City, who fell 4-2 to second-tier German club St. Pauli.

Despite a goal from newcomer Harry Maguire, Leicester City were also on the losing side, falling 2-1 at Championship club Burton Albion.

Collin Quaner and Sean Scannell scored in the 77th and 80th minutes to help Huddersfield Town salvage a 3-3 draw with Stuttgart.

Robert Brady and Jeff Hendrick scored for Burnley either side of a Jozabed brace in a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.

Hal Robson-Kanu's goal for West Brom was cancelled out late on by Port Vale's Tom Pope in a 1-1 draw, while Brighton endured a goalless game at Girona.
