Championship side Brentford have completed the signing of South Africa international Kamohelo Mokotjo, the club have confirmed. The Bafana Bafana star moves to the London outfit for an initial fee of £880,000 (€1 million), according to Sky Sports, and signs a three-year deal with the Bees. Mokotjo completed his medical with the second-tier team on Thursday, and then flew to London in order to put pen to paper on his personal terms. "We have been scouting Kamo for two years and we believe he is a perfect match to our style of play," said Brentford's co-director of football, Rasmus Ankersen, speaking to the club's official website. "We are really pleased that it was possible to come to an agreement with Twente this summer and especially that we could sign him early in the window," he added. "It means that he will be able to travel with the rest of the squad to pre-season camp on Saturday to take part in the important preparations for next season." Brentford head coach Dean Smith echoed Ankersen's enthusiasm, and outlined his expectations for the 26-year-old ahead of the coming campaign. "I am pleased that we have been able to add Kamo to our group now he has become available," Smith began. "He is a player that we have been looking at for a while and we are sure he will fit into the system and style that we have here. "Kamo is a defensive midfielder who can break play up, cover a lot of ground and use the ball intelligently. He is a player that will certainly add to the qualities we already have within the squad." After making significant progress in recent seasons, Brentford finished 10th in the second tier last term, 16 points off the playoff places. They'll be significantly boosted by the addition of Mokotjo, who reaffirmed his class last term with another sterling season in the Eredivisie. The former Feyenoord man, who joined FC Twente from PEC Zwolle in 2014, was the sixth most prolific passer in the Dutch top flight last term.
