Bayern Munich draw 2-2 with Stuttgart as Serhou Guirassy scores stoppage-time penalty

Bayern Munich conceded a stoppage-time equaliser against Stuttgart as Serhou Guirassy scored from the penalty spot in a 2-2 draw, the champions' third in a row in the Bundesliga.

Bayern, who host Barcelona in the Champions League group stage next week, had only themselves to blame for not killing off Stuttgart earlier, leaving coach Julian Nagelsmann to rue their missed opportunities.

"We played good for a 15-minute spell and also initially in the second half and deserved to go in front," Nagelsmann told a news conference. "But then we were too slow in our game and played on possession.

"We had enough chances to finish off the game. We had enough space to create those chances. But there was not a third goal and then the opponents think maybe they can still get something out of this. They got a deserved penalty and then it was 2-2."

It had all started so well for Bayern, with forward Mathys Tel scoring their opener in the 36th minute.

France youth international Tel became Bayern's youngest scorer in the Bundesliga at 17 years and 136 days old, drilling home a low drive from an Alphonso Davies cutback.

Nagelsmann rotated heavily from his side's 2-0 midweek Champions League win at Inter Milan and his team dropped their pace in the second half, giving Stuttgart more room to push forward.

Stuttgart were rewarded when Chris Fuhrich netted the equaliser from close range in the 57th minute but three minutes later Bayern were back in front thanks to another teenager.

Jamal Musiala, 19, shook off his marker with a quick change of direction and fired home to restore his side's advantage.

The visitors' biggest chance to level came in the 74th minute when Guirassy rattled the crossbar with keeper Manuel Neuer beaten.

But Stuttgart then earned a stoppage-time penalty when Matthijs de Ligt fouled Guirassy.

The Guinea international kept his composure to beat Neuer and earn a point for the visitors.

Bayern went top on goal difference with 12 points, ahead of Hoffenheim, 4-1 winners against Mainz. Freiburg, also on 12, host Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.
