Lautaro Martinez stunner sees Inter Milan past Atletico Madrid

Inter Milan beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano in the final match of the International Champions Cup in Madrid.

Inter took the lead midway through the first half with a superb flying volley from former Atletico target Lautaro Martinez, with the visitors having earlier come close when Jan Oblak saved from a Mauro Icardi shot when he was played in behind the defence.

Atletico forward Angel Correa thought he had equalised before half-time but his close-range finish was ruled out due to an offside spotted by the video-assistant referee.

The second half saw both sides make a number of changes -- with Atletico's World Cup 2018 winners Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez among the players introduced.

But the home side did not have any shots on target until the 88th minute when substitute Vitolo's header was well saved by Inter keeper Samir Handanovic.
